Vietnam-Germany University is a public university in cooperation between the Government of Vietnam and the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany, established in 2008 under Decision No. 1196/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister with the orientation of becoming a leading research university in Vietnam and the region.
With the mission of promoting high-quality education and innovative research, Vietnam-Germany University has continuously expanded its cooperative relations with leading universities and research organizations in the Federal Republic of Germany.

At the ceremony, Vietnam-Germany University awarded graduation certificates to 227 new graduates in the following majors: Architecture (ARC), Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), Mechanical Engineering (MEN), Business Administration (BBA), Finance and Accounting (BFA), Computer Science (CSE).
At the same time, the Graduation Certificates were awarded to 110 new masters in the following majors: Mechatronics and Sensor Technology (MST), Business Information Systems (BIS), Technical Computing and Computer Simulation (COM), Sustainable Urban Development (SUD), Global Production Engineering and Management (GPE), Business Administration (MBA), Water Technology, Reuse and Management (WTE).

Speaking at the ceremony, Professor, Dr. Rene Thiele, Rector of Vietnam-Germany University, congratulated 337 new bachelors and masters for their efforts throughout their studies; at the same time, affirmed Vietnam-Germany University's commitment to providing high-quality education and encouraging students to develop creative thinking and leadership skills.

At the ceremony, Vietnam-Germany University also awarded scholarships to students with excellent academic achievements with a total value of more than 8 billion VND from the awarding units, such as: Scholarships for talents awarded by Vietnam-Germany University; DAAD scholarships to cover all costs for the exchange semester at a German partner school awarded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD); WUS scholarships sponsored by the Ministry of Economics, Energy, Transport and Regional Development of the state of Hessen (HMWEVL); AFS scholarships awarded by the Association of Friends of VGU.

On this occasion, Vietnam-Germany University held the Opening Ceremony of the 2024-2025 academic year, welcoming 887 new students and trainees of training programs in the fields of computer science, engineering science, architecture, economics and management.
The event is not only an opportunity to honor new students and trainees but also an opportunity to affirm the sustainable cooperative relationship between Vietnam and the Federal Republic of Germany.
Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Van Phuc beat the drum to open the new school year, symbolizing the exciting start of a new school year.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Van Phuc emphasized that Vietnam-Germany University has initially affirmed its role in training high-tech and key technical fields, meeting the demand for high-quality human resources for the labor market and the needs of the economy; at the same time, he hoped that the staff, lecturers and students of the school would continue to promote the strong development of Vietnam-Germany University, with a worthy position in the region and internationally.

On the same day at the Vietnam-Germany University, Comrade Nguyen Van Loi, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Binh Duong province, had a meeting with the Hessen State government delegation led by Mr. Boris Rhein, Prime Minister of Hessen State, and Ms. Helga Margarete Barth, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Vietnam.
Exchanging opinions at the meeting, Binh Duong Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Van Loi briefly introduced the socio-economic achievements of Binh Duong province, the good results and contributions of Vietnam-Germany University and the priority orientation to attract investment in high-tech industries, semiconductor chips, green energy, green economy, digital transformation automation... of the province.

Binh Duong Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Van Loi hopes that in the coming time, Hessen State will cooperate and support Binh Duong Province in training high-quality human resources in the fields of semiconductor chips, electronic microcircuits, etc.; at the same time, he hopes that Binh Duong Province and Hessen State will have a twinning program to promote investment, training and build the Vietnam-Germany University into a model for the relationship between the Federal Republic of Germany and Vietnam.

At the meeting, the Prime Minister of Hessen State, Mr. Boris Rhein, emphasized that the Vietnam-Germany University is a beacon of good evidence for the relationship between Germany and Vietnam over the past 15 years and is very impressive with the development speed of Binh Duong province.
In the coming time, the State of Hessen and Binh Duong province will continue to develop future projects, not only the school's projects but also deeper connections, enhancing strategic cooperation partnerships in education, tourism and other fields.
