Self-reflection and self-correction in the 312th Division

Following the directive of the Party Committee of the 312th Division, 1st Army Corps, regarding the organization of the thematic activity "self-reflection and self-correction" (from the Party branch to the Division Party Committee), from the beginning of 2022 until now, the Party branch of the Propaganda Department, 312th Division, has consistently dedicated time to conducting thematic activities on "self-reflection and self-correction," integrating them into monthly Party branch meetings.

Lieutenant Colonel Le Van Vu, Head of the Propaganda Department of the 312th Division, said: “With the spirit of speaking truthfully, frankly, and completely about oneself, each officer and Party member admits their own shortcomings. The Party Secretary, Deputy Secretary, and Party Committee members do it first, followed by other Party members. At the end of the meeting, the Party branch secretary concludes, guiding the awareness, ideology, responsibility, and determining the direction for officers and Party members.” Currently, the thematic "self-reflection and self-correction" activities in the Party Committee of the 312th Division have spread widely. Officers and Party members always uphold the spirit of self-reflection and self-correction, promptly overcoming limitations and shortcomings in their work and daily lives.

Colonel Nguyen Van Tan, Political Commissar of the 312th Division, stated: “The 312th Division is a full-strength unit with the central task of training and combat readiness. Stemming from the significance and importance of studying and following President Ho Chi Minh's teachings and implementing Resolution No. 847-NQ/QUTW of the Central Military Commission on promoting the qualities of Ho Chi Minh's soldiers and resolutely combating individualism in the new situation, the Division Party Committee has directed the concretization of the contents and criteria for promoting the qualities of Ho Chi Minh's soldiers into the activity program. Many new and creative models in the propaganda and education of Ho Chi Minh's soldier qualities have created strong changes in the awareness and actions of officers and soldiers.”

To promote and educate on the qualities of the Ho Chi Minh Army, the 312th Division has flexibly applied many diverse and rich forms such as: through Party branch meetings, youth union meetings; young officer seminars, competitions for excellent political lecturers, propagandists, and instructors; and current affairs talks. In the two years of implementing Resolution No. 847, the Division organized many seminars on the theme "Promoting the traditions of the Ho Chi Minh Army, eradicating individualism"; and competitions on legal knowledge through theatrical performances... Many contents were selected by the Corps to be implemented first and were highly appreciated by superiors. The Division effectively implemented models such as: "President Ho Chi Minh's teachings on this day in history," "One law per week, one legal question per day"; "Savings fund for future career development"... These models focus on educating and guiding actions regarding exemplary conduct, responsibility, discipline, and order for officers and Party members, thereby creating positive changes.

For example, during the Covid-19 pandemic, many comrades set aside personal and family matters to volunteer to go to the South to fight the epidemic. Having just returned from the epicenter of the outbreak, they actively participated in fighting forest fires in the area. Or, at the 2022 International Military Games (Army Games), Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Minh Duc, Deputy Regiment Commander and Chief of Staff of Regiment 165 (312th Division, 1st Corps), was assigned the task of leading and coaching the team participating in the "Accident Zone" competition. Despite difficult training conditions, Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Minh Duc, along with his team, overcame challenges and won the Gold Medal. Notably, the athletes of the 312th Division also broke two Army Games records, elevating the image of the Vietnam People's Army on the international stage…

Through effective methods, the officers and Party members of the 312th Division consistently uphold the qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers, demonstrating a spirit of overcoming difficulties and successfully completing their tasks. To date, 100% of officers and Party members have a good understanding of the position, significance, role, and importance of studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style, and upholding the qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers. Internal units within the division maintain unity of will and action; the morale and sense of responsibility of officers and Party members in performing their duties have been enhanced; democracy has been promoted and expanded; contributing to building the Division's Party Committee to excellently fulfill its tasks, and its agencies and units to be strong, comprehensive, "exemplary, and outstanding," successfully completing all assigned tasks.
