The information was given by Ho Chi Minh City Police during a working session with the Supervisory Delegation of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council's Legal Committee on May 31.

From the above cases, the police seized more than 60kg of various drugs, 2 guns and other related evidence.
In addition, the police have administratively handled 37 other people.
During the investigation, Ho Chi Minh City Police had sufficient grounds to believe that from mid-2022 until their arrest, the subjects had bought and sold more than 109,000 ecstasy pills, 80kg of Ketamine, crystal meth and 3,000 bottles of Vui water (a new type of drug), with a total transaction amount of up to 52 billion VND.
As reported, on the morning of March 16, the Tan Son Nhat Airport Customs Branch under the Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department inspected the luggage of a group of 4 female flight attendants of Vietnam Airlines when they entered the country from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (France) and landed at Tan Son Nhat Airport on flight number VN 10.
Upon identifying the suspect, the Customs force coordinated with other authorities to take the four flight attendants and their luggage to a separate area for screening and thorough inspection.
Specifically, in 327 tubes of toothpaste (unopened, many different brands, each tube contained in a separate paper box) and 17 bottles of mouthwash in the flight attendants' luggage, the authorities found 11.4 kg of ecstasy and synthetic drugs, including 8,400 grams of gray tablets, 3,080 grams of white powder, all samples were drugs.
The flight attendants said that while in France, a person (whose identity has not been determined) asked them to "carry" some goods back to the country and paid them more than 10 million VND. Because they were too busy, they only checked a few tubes of cream and did not see anything unusual.
Ho Chi Minh City police have detained four flight attendants and the evidence to take their statements. However, on March 22, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Investigation Agency decided to release the four Vietnam Airlines flight attendants and initiated a case of “illegal drug transportation” to investigate and clarify the nature of the case.
According to Ho Chi Minh City Police, the flight attendants were used to transport drugs from France to Vietnam, not knowing that the toothpaste tubes contained drugs.
During the investigation, Ho Chi Minh City Police in coordination with many other related units tracked down and dismantled many drug trafficking rings from abroad for consumption in Vietnam.
Police clarified that the method of taking advantage of Vietnamese people studying and settling in France to receive international goods collection and express delivery services to transport drugs to Vietnam via Noi Bai International Airport and Tan Son Nhat Airport.
Then, they used a domestic express delivery service to deliver the drugs to a subject in Dong Nai, split them into separate packages, and transported them by road to subjects in Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong to continue dividing them into smaller packages and selling them at many locations in Ho Chi Minh City and several other provinces and cities.
