The "National Unity of Ethnic Groups - Vietnamese Cultural Heritage" Week program in 2023 was organized by the Management Board of the Vietnamese Ethnic Groups Cultural and Tourism Village (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) from November 22-26.

Over 200 people from 15 ethnic groups, including Tay, Nung, Dao, Mong, Muong, Thai, Kho Mu, Ta Oi, Ba Na, Co Tu, Xo Dang, and Gia Rai, will participate in the 2023 "National Unity of Ethnic Groups - Vietnamese Cultural Heritage" Week at the Vietnam Ethnic Groups Cultural and Tourism Village.
This activity aims to contribute to preserving and promoting the tradition of national unity; strengthening cultural, sports, and tourism exchanges; spreading and promoting the cultural identity of Vietnam's 54 ethnic groups; and raising awareness and responsibility in building and developing Vietnamese culture and people to meet the requirements of sustainable national development as set forth in Resolution No. 33-NQ/TW dated June 9, 2014, of the XI Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Resolution of the XIII National Congress of the Party, and the National Cultural Conference in 2021…
The opening ceremony of the 2023 "National Unity Week - Vietnamese Cultural Heritage" and the "Cây Nêu" (New Year's Pole) Performance Festival are highlight activities celebrating Vietnamese Cultural Heritage Day on November 23rd, contributing to honoring, preserving, and promoting the value of cultural heritage; building an advanced Vietnamese culture rich in national identity; and strengthening the inheritance and practice of culture to preserve and promote the value of traditional cultural heritage of Vietnamese ethnic groups.
The program also includes a reenactment of the Poon Poong Festival (flower appreciation festival) of the Muong ethnic group in Thanh Hoa province; and a cultural exchange day of the Central Highlands ethnic groups, featuring folk songs, folk dances, and traditional games of the Central Highlands ethnic groups, with a combination of groups of artisans from the Central Highlands who are actively involved in daily activities and groups of artisans from the Central Highlands provinces participating in the festival.
The Northwest Ethnic Groups Cultural Exchange Festival features the participation of ethnic groups from the North who work daily at the Village, in collaboration with artisans from the Muong ethnic group (Thanh Hoa).
The program includes exchanges of folk songs, folk dances, and folk games of the Nung, Tay, Dao, Mong, Muong, Thai, and Kho Mu ethnic groups, as well as demonstrations of "Skillful Handicraft Weaving" by ethnic cultural groups from the North.
The photo exhibition "Colors of Vietnam's Ethnic Groups" features a selection of approximately 160 high-quality photographs, showcasing the 54 ethnic groups of Vietnam in terms of both content and artistic form.
By introducing this photo collection, we aim to create favorable conditions for people in Vietnam and international friends to enjoy works of art and learn about the culture, life, and people of Vietnam's ethnic groups.
