(CLO) On the afternoon of November 7th, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MOCST) held a press conference to announce the organization of the "Great Unity of Ethnic Groups - Vietnamese Cultural Heritage" Week in 2024 at the Vietnam Ethnic Groups Cultural and Tourism Village. The event is expected to take place from November 15th to 24th, 2024.


The purpose of organizing the "National Unity Week - Vietnamese Cultural Heritage" in 2024 is to contribute to preserving and promoting the tradition of national unity; to honor the cultural heritage of Vietnamese ethnic groups; to strengthen practical cultural, sports , and tourism exchange activities to celebrate the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (November 18, 1930 - November 18, 2024) and the Vietnamese Cultural Heritage Day (November 23); and to honor the spirit of national unity, a precious tradition and cultural heritage of our nation, forged through thousands of years of nation-building and national defense.

To disseminate and promote the national cultural identity, preserve, develop, and honor the cultural identity of the 54 ethnic groups of Vietnam; to raise awareness and responsibility in building and developing Vietnamese culture and people to meet the requirements of sustainable national development as set forth in Resolution No. 33-NQ/TW dated June 9, 2014, of the Central Committee of the 11th Party Congress, the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Party, and the National Cultural Conference in 2021.

The 2024 National Unity Week of Vietnamese Cultural Heritage takes place from November 15th (Figure 1).

Leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism chaired the press conference this afternoon.

In addition, it is necessary to strengthen links and coordination with localities in preserving, protecting, and promoting the values ​​of national cultural heritage and in promoting and developing tourism at the Village, as well as attracting tourists to the Vietnam Ethnic Groups Cultural and Tourism Village.

According to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the 2024 "National Unity of Ethnic Groups - Vietnamese Cultural Heritage" Week will feature the participation of over 200 people from 17 ethnic groups (including: Tay, Nung, Dao, Mong, Muong, Lao, Thai, Kho Mu, Ta Oi, Ba Na, Co Tu, Xo Dang, Gia Rai, Raglai, E De, Khmer, Cho Ro) from 12 localities whose people participate in daily activities at the Vietnam Ethnic Groups Cultural and Tourism Village and coordinate the event. Specifically: Over 100 people from 16 communities that participate in daily activities at the Cultural Village in various localities (Hanoi, Thai Nguyen, Ha Giang, Hoa Binh, Son La, Thua Thien Hue, Gia Lai, Kon Tum, Dak Lak, Ninh Thuan, Soc Trang).

At the same time, 25 people from the Chơ Ro ethnic group in Đồng Nai province were mobilized to participate in the event. A delegation of ethnic artisans and amateur performers from several localities participated in the 7th Tày, Nùng, and Thái Ethnic Groups' Then Singing and Tính Playing Art Festival in 2024.

Within the framework of the 2024 "National Unity of Ethnic Groups - Vietnamese Cultural Heritage" Week, there will be many activities such as: the Opening Ceremony of the 2024 "National Unity of Ethnic Groups - Vietnamese Cultural Heritage" Week; the 7th Tay, Nung, and Thai ethnic groups' Then singing and Dan Tinh playing art festival in 2024; the National Unity Day at the Vietnam Ethnic Groups Cultural and Tourism Village; cultural festivals; performances, exchanges, and introductions of the cultures of various ethnic groups (including: Dong Nai province's cultural and festival space; the Southwest ethnic groups' cultural exchange festival; the Central Highlands ethnic groups' cultural exchange festival; and the Northwest ethnic groups' cultural exchange festival).

The 2024 National Unity Week of Vietnamese Cultural Heritage takes place from November 15th (Figure 2).
