Week of Great National Unity

(CLO) On the afternoon of November 7, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) held a press conference to inform about the organization of the event "Great National Unity - Vietnamese Cultural Heritage" Week in 2024 at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism. The event is expected to take place from November 15 to 24, 2024.

The purpose of organizing the "Great National Unity - Vietnamese Cultural Heritage" Week in 2024 is to contribute to preserving and promoting the tradition of great national unity; honoring the cultural heritage of Vietnamese ethnic groups; enhancing practical cultural, sports and tourism exchange activities to celebrate the 94th anniversary of the Traditional Day - the founding day of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (November 18, 1930 - November 18, 2024) and celebrate the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23); At the same time, honoring the spirit of great national unity, which is a precious tradition and cultural heritage of our nation, forged through thousands of years of building and defending the country.

Spread and promote national cultural identity, preserve, promote and honor the cultural identity of 54 Vietnamese ethnic groups; raise awareness and responsibility in building and developing Vietnamese culture and people to meet the requirements of sustainable national development according to Resolution No. 33-NQ/TW dated June 9, 2014 of the 11th Party Central Committee, Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Party and the 2021 National Cultural Conference.

In addition, strengthen links and coordination with localities in preserving, maintaining and promoting the values of national cultural heritage and in promoting, advertising and developing tourism in the Village as well as attracting tourists to the Vietnam Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village.

According to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Week of "Great Unity of Ethnic Groups - Vietnamese Cultural Heritage" in 2024 will have the participation of more than 200 people of 17 ethnic groups (including: Tay, Nung, Dao, Mong, Muong, Lao, Thai, Kho Mu, Ta Oi, Ba Na, Co Tu, Xo Dang, Gia Rai, Raglai, E De, Khmer, Cho Ro) of 12 localities with people participating in daily activities at the Cultural - Tourism Village of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups and coordinating to organize events, specifically: More than 100 people of 16 communities participating in daily activities at the Cultural Village of localities (Hanoi City, Thai Nguyen, Ha Giang, Hoa Binh, Son La, Thua Thien Hue, Gia Lai, Kon Tum, Dak Lak, Ninh Thuan, Soc Trang).

At the same time, mobilize 25 Cho Ro ethnic people, Dong Nai province to participate in the event. Ethnic artists and extras from several localities participate in the 7th Then singing and Tinh lute art festival of the Tay, Nung, and Thai ethnic groups in 2024.

Within the framework of the Week of "Great Unity of Ethnic Groups - Vietnamese Cultural Heritage" in 2024, there will be many activities such as: Opening Program of the Week of "Great Unity of Ethnic Groups - Vietnamese Cultural Heritage" in 2024; The 7th Festival of Then singing and Tinh lute of the Tay, Nung, and Thai ethnic groups in 2024; Great Unity Day of the Nationalities at the Village of Culture and Tourism of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups; Cultural colors of festivals; performances, exchanges, and introductions of ethnic cultures (including: Cultural space, festivals of Dong Nai province; Cultural exchange festival of ethnic groups in the Southwest; Cultural exchange festival of ethnic groups in the Central Highlands; Cultural exchange festival of ethnic groups in the Northwest).
