- Tuan Son commune has the largest number of timber processing facilities in the province, with a large workforce. Therefore, occupational safety and health (OSH) is always given attention and implemented effectively.
BaiFar Lang Son Co., Ltd., located in Tuan Son commune, is one of the large-scale wood processing facilities with nearly 200 employees. Here, workers are constantly exposed to various types of equipment such as peeling machines, cutting machines, and saws, so the risk of workplace accidents is always present. Therefore, ensuring occupational safety is always a top priority for the company.

Ms. Phan Thi Thu Loan, Chief Accountant of the company, said: "The company started operating in 2023. To ensure occupational safety, we regularly educate workers and issue regulations and rules on safe working practices. Every year, the company allocates approximately 40 million VND to purchase protective equipment and work clothes for workers. At the same time, every year, we cooperate with specialized agencies at the provincial and commune levels to organize occupational safety training for workers. As a result, since we started operating, the unit has not had a single workplace accident."
Thanh An Service and Trade Development Co., Ltd., located in Tuan Son commune, also has a large workforce. Mr. Nguyen Van Manh, the company's production director, stated: To ensure occupational safety for 180 workers, every Monday, before the start of each shift, the company's leadership and production team leaders dedicate 30 minutes to educating and reminding workers about occupational safety, specifically requiring them to use protective equipment such as masks, gloves, and hard hats while working. Annually, the company spends approximately 50 million VND on purchasing personal protective equipment to distribute to workers and collaborates with relevant agencies to organize one to two occupational safety training courses for workers.
Not only at the two companies mentioned above, but according to the assessment of the commune authorities, most companies, wood processing facilities, and workers in the area strictly comply with regulations on occupational safety and hygiene.
Mr. Hoang Minh Phuc, Chairman of the People's Committee of Tuan Son commune, said: Currently, there are 35 wood processing facilities and 5 factories processing wood products in the commune, employing nearly 1,000 workers. To ensure occupational safety at these facilities, the People's Committee of the commune has directed specialized departments to proactively coordinate with relevant units to conduct awareness campaigns, organizing 1 to 2 training sessions annually to improve workers' skills. Since implementing the two-tiered local government model, inspections in the commune have shown no accidents related to poor hygiene or occupational safety, and all wood processing companies and facilities comply well with the law on occupational safety.
In the coming period, the People's Committee of the commune will continue to coordinate with relevant departments to strengthen propaganda and training to raise awareness and responsibility regarding occupational safety and health among units, employers, and workers. Along with that, units will be required to fully equip themselves with personal protective equipment, guide and organize workers to sign commitments to comply with production regulations, and strengthen inspection and consulting work to help businesses further improve their occupational safety and health practices.
