(HBĐT) - Over the years, along with young people nationwide, the pioneering and volunteer spirit of Hoa Binh's youth has been clearly demonstrated through many meaningful activities, projects, and tasks for the community.

The youth of Tay Phong commune (Cao Phong district) have developed a model of "Turning car tires into traffic signs" along roads near schools, markets, and inter-communal roads to reduce traffic accidents.

Comrade Nguyen Thanh Luan, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, said: The Standing Committee of the Provincial Youth Union has directed all levels of the Youth Union throughout the province to improve the quality and effectiveness of volunteer activities in order to enhance the coordinating, connecting, leading, and guiding role of the Youth Union and Associations in local volunteer activities. These include typical campaigns such as: Winter Volunteer Campaign, Spring Volunteer Campaign, the "Forever Grateful to Uncle Ho" Tree Planting Festival, Youth Month, Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign, the Provincial-level Volunteer Day for Building New Rural Areas, and the "Children's Fun and Healthy Day - Advancing Towards the Youth Union" Day...

Besides volunteer campaigns, the Youth Union at all levels continues to maintain and promote volunteer activities for community life and social welfare, focusing on activities of gratitude and appreciation, visiting and giving gifts, voluntary blood donation, medical examinations and treatment, free distribution of medicine, house repair... for policy beneficiary families and those who have contributed to the revolution, activities caring for children and students in difficult circumstances, focusing on remote and disadvantaged areas of the province. From the beginning of the year until now, the whole province has renovated and built 15 playgrounds for children, worth 250 million VND, and donated 10,200 gifts to poor students, families in difficult circumstances, and policy beneficiary families; The organization provided free health screenings, consultations, and medication to 2,500 people, offered reproductive health counseling to 320 adolescent students, and organized a "Red Sunday" blood donation drive with the participation of over 2,000 volunteers, collecting 1,737 units of blood…

In particular, in May, the Youth Union branches in districts and cities simultaneously organized the "Young Doctors' Day Following Uncle Ho's Teachings, Volunteering for Community Health." The event brought together over 100 young doctors from Young Doctors' Clubs throughout the province to particularly disadvantaged communes to carry out youth projects and activities. They provided free medical examinations and dispensed free medicine to 3,000 people. In addition, in Lac Thuy district, the Provincial Youth Union organized the "Young Workers' Day" and the "Young Doctors' Journey Following Uncle Ho's Teachings" in 2023. At the program, partner organizations and businesses in the province donated 20 gifts to young workers and 10 bicycles to children of disadvantaged workers; and provided free medical examinations and dispensed free medicine to 200 young workers and residents in Lac Thuy district.

Activities related to building new rural areas and civilized urban areas continue to be effectively implemented by all levels of the Youth Union. District and city Youth Unions are also actively carrying out youth projects and tasks, building models for transferring agricultural science and technology, contributing significantly to building new rural areas and civilized urban areas at the grassroots level; mobilizing young people to set a good example in practicing thrift and civility in weddings and funerals; registering to undertake and implement "Bright - Green - Clean - Beautiful - Civilized - Safe" roads; and promoting the building of civilized lifestyles and cultural behavior among Youth Union members and the people.

Volunteer activities to protect the environment and respond to climate change have also been implemented by Youth Union branches at all levels in various forms such as: environmental protection and climate change response communication linked to environmental events; implementing youth projects to protect the environment and respond to climate change; simultaneously launching "Green Sunday" in all 10 districts and cities, attracting a large number of Youth Union members to participate in cleaning up, collecting and processing waste, planting trees along roads, and mobilizing people to dispose of waste in designated areas. In the first "Green Sunday" in 2023, nearly 1,000 Youth Union members participated in planting and caring for over 13,000 trees; supporting the construction of 7 tree nurseries, collecting nearly 10 tons of waste; building and renovating 53 cultural centers and children's playgrounds, and removing illegal advertising signs.
