TPO – The Ring Road 1 project, the Hoang Cau – Voi Phuc section (phase 1), has a length of 2.3km and a cross-section of 50m. This is considered the most expensive road on the planet, but so far only 34.1% of the planned capital has been disbursed.
The Hanoi Statistics Department has just released information on the progress of several key transportation projects in the capital city.
Accordingly, the Ring Road 4 – Capital Region Project is being actively implemented by local authorities, with land handed over for the construction of the entire project. To date, the total investment for the project is approximately 12,600 billion VND, and the construction progress has reached 9.9% of the total volume.
The Ring Road 1 project, section Hoang Cau – Voi Phuc (phase 1), has a length of 2.3km and a cross-section of 50m. The starting point of the road intersects with Cat Linh – La Thanh – Yen Lang road at Hoang Cau (Dong Da district) and the end point is at the Voi Phuc intersection (Ba Dinh district). The investment for phase 1 of the project is over 7,200 billion VND from the city budget, including 627 billion VND for construction costs and 5,800 billion VND for land clearance costs. To date, the project has disbursed 34.1% of the planned capital.

The project to renovate and upgrade National Highway 6, the section from Ba La intersection (Ha Dong district) to Xuan Mai town (Chuong My district), is 21.7km long. This section will be upgraded to 4-6 lanes, with a design speed of 80 km/h and a roadbed width of 50-60m, contributing to the completion of the radial road axis connecting National Highway 21A, Ho Chi Minh Highway, and the Ring Road 4 - Capital Region. The total investment for the project is 8,100 billion VND from the city budget. To date, the project has disbursed 7.7% of the planned capital.
The Thang Long Boulevard expressway, connecting National Highway 21 to the Hanoi- Hoa Binh expressway, is 6.7km long with a cross-section of 120-180m. The total investment for the entire project is 5,200 billion VND. To date, the project has disbursed 7.7% of the planned capital.
Retail sales of goods reached over 43 trillion VND.
The Hanoi Statistics Department further stated that in July 2024, the city continued to focus on and direct efforts to stabilize prices of consumer goods and services, strengthen the connection between supply and demand, ensure food safety, and meet the needs of the people.
Total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue in July are estimated at VND 69.9 trillion, an increase of 2.3% compared to the previous month and an increase of 12.7% compared to the same period in 2023.
Specifically, retail sales of goods reached VND 43.3 trillion, an increase of 2.4% compared to the previous month and a 12.9% increase compared to the same period in 2023; similarly, hotel and restaurant revenue reached VND 9.6 trillion, an increase of 2.7% and a 5.2% increase; travel and tourism revenue reached VND 2.5 trillion, an increase of 1.3% and a 39.1% increase; and revenue from other services reached VND 14.5 trillion, an increase of 1.6% and a 13.9% increase.
Overall, in the first seven months of 2024, total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue reached VND 475.3 trillion, an increase of 10.3% compared to the same period in 2023.
