Thailand national team unveils Grimsby Town player.

Jude Soonsup-Bell, the striker of English and Thai descent, has agreed to represent the "War Elephants" in the FIFA Days matches in November 2025.

Jude Soonsup-Bell is likely to make his debut for the Thai national team in November.

The 21-year-old player was once a promising prospect for English football. Soonsup-Bell played for England's youth teams from U15 to U19 between 2019 and 2021. He came through the Chelsea academy, played for Tottenham, and currently plays for Grimsby Town in League Two (the fourth tier). This season, Soonsup-Bell has made eight appearances in all competitions and provided one assist.

Notably, Soonsup-Bell was included in the squad for Grimsby Town's sensational match that eliminated Manchester United from the Carabao Cup on August 28th, despite not playing a single minute. Just two months later, he unexpectedly made a major career shift by choosing to represent his mother's homeland – Thailand.

The President of the Football Association of Thailand (FAT), Madame Pang, confirmed the information, adding that the process of completing Jude's passport and registration is being expedited so that he can make his debut for the Thai national team in November.

"Soonsup-Bell was considered one of the most promising talents in English football before making the historic decision to return and play for the Thai national team," Madame Pang shared.

This event opens a new direction for Thai football, as the FAT (Football Association of Thailand) intensifies its strategy of globalizing its player pool, recruiting talented Thai players currently playing in Europe – similar to the model previously used by the Philippines.

According to the schedule, Thailand will play a friendly match at home against Singapore on November 13th, then travel to Sri Lanka to play their fifth match of the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers on November 18th.
