Vietnam U23 player changes his mind about joining Hanoi FC

Defender Vo Minh Trong will join Binh Duong FC in the 2023/2024 season. Previously, the U23 Vietnam defender reached an agreement to join Hanoi FC with a 4-year contract. However, he suddenly changed his mind at the last minute to play for the team in the capital.

" I would like to thank Dong Thap football fans for accompanying the team and me throughout the competition.

For my future orientation, I wish to compete and train in a higher environment, through which I can develop and learn more experience. In the future, if I have the opportunity, I will return to contribute to Dong Thap football ," Minh Trong shared.

Vo Minh Trong (white shirt) is a mainstay of U23 Vietnam.

Vo Minh Trong is one of the new contracts of Binh Duong Club this season. Previously, the team's leadership decided to spend a lot of money to bring in stars like Nguyen Hai Huy and Que Ngoc Hai.

Vo Minh Trong was born in 2001 in Can Tho . This player was admitted to Dong Thap's youth training center in 2017. He quickly proved his talent and played for Dong Thap U17 that same year. Next, Minh Trong was promoted to Dong Thap's U19 and U21 teams to participate in national youth tournaments.

In 2019, Vo Minh Trong was called up by coach Troussier to the Vietnam U19 team.

In 2022, Minh Trong will play for Phu Tho on loan. He impressed and was called up by coach Park Hang Seo to the Vietnam U23 team to prepare for the 31st SEA Games and the 2022 U23 Asian Cup finals.

Vo Minh Trong is currently the number 1 left-back of U23 Vietnam. He and the team just won a place in the final round of U23 Asia 2024. Coach Troussier also included his name in the list of players to gather for the Vietnam national team this October.
