On May 20, the Foreign Language Specialized High School (University of Foreign Languages, Vietnam National University , Hanoi ) informed that the school received 3,386 applications for the 10th grade entrance exam, a decrease of about 600 compared to last year.
The English major class had the most applications, 1,611. With 315 quotas, the "competition" ratio was 1.5, down from 7.1 last year. The reason was that this year the school increased the number of places by 105.
The specialized class with the highest "competition" ratio is Russian. With 35 quotas and 247 applications, the competition ratio for this specialized class is 1/7. However, this is still lower than the highest "competition" ratio last year in the specialized French class with a competition ratio of 1/10.8.

This year, candidates applying for the 10th grade of the Foreign Language major must take four exams on June 1, including Math, Literature, English and the specialized subject. Candidates can choose one of five foreign languages, including English, French, Chinese, German, Japanese, and Korean, to take the exam for the corresponding specialized class. The English subject can be applied to all specialized classes.
The admission score is the total score of four subjects on a 10-point scale, in which the specialized subject is multiplied by a factor of two, with a maximum of 50, without bonus points. The results will be announced before July 15.
Last year, the school's benchmark score was 23.14-25.12 on a scale of 40, the highest in the French language class.
Tuition at the Foreign Language Specialized High School is expected to be 3.2 million VND/month, with no increase throughout the entire course. The school will award 70 scholarships, including 20 full scholarships (equivalent to 100% of tuition) and 50 partial scholarships (50% of tuition).
