On the afternoon of June 3rd, the Vietnam U19 team completed their final training session in preparation for their match against Myanmar U19 in the second round of Group A of the 2026 Southeast Asian U19 Championship.

Following their 3-0 victory against Timor Leste U19 in their opening match, coach Yutaka Ikeuchi and his team entered training with high spirits but without becoming complacent. On the training ground, the coaching staff focused on perfecting tactical strategies, while also reviewing and adjusting technical issues identified after the first match.

Despite securing all three points and having a promising start, the Vietnam U19 coaching staff still set high standards to help the entire team better utilize their abilities. Therefore, the training sessions on the afternoon of June 3rd mainly focused on improving coordination between lines, enhancing the ability to capitalize on opportunities, and strengthening concentration in defensive organization.

Compared to Timor Leste, the Myanmar U19 team is considered to have a higher level of technical skill and promises to pose a significant challenge to the Vietnam U19 team. This team is also very determined to achieve a favorable result after their defeat against host Indonesia in the opening match.

Besides the professional aspect, the situation in Group A also makes the match between Vietnam U19 and Myanmar U19 particularly important. According to the tournament format, only the top teams in each group and the best-performing second-placed team will qualify for the semi-finals. This means that Vietnam U19 needs to aim for a victory to maintain their advantage in the race for qualification before facing a potentially difficult match against host Indonesia in the final round.

According to Team Leader Nguyen Anh Tuan, the entire team is currently maintaining good physical and mental condition after days of competition and training in Medan. The pitch conditions and weather are no longer a major obstacle, as the players have had time to adapt since arriving in Indonesia.

The match between Vietnam U19 and Myanmar U19 will take place at 4:00 PM on June 4th at the Sumatera Utara Main Stadium (Indonesia) and will be broadcast live on TV360.
