Bulldozers piled up the ground to catch the small fish.

As the north wind stirred, the excavated boats, their engines roaring, cut through the waves, relentlessly harvesting anchovies in the deep stretches of the river.

When the nets were pulled up, the small fish were jumping and splashing on the water's surface, and the people were delighted to have harvested a large "bounty."

The fishermen quickly pulled up their nets to catch the small fish.

The snakehead fish at the end of the season are about the size of a thumb.

Once the fish are scooped up, small traders weigh them and sell them retail along the Tien River embankment.

The boats, equipped with large nets, sail against the current and then downstream to catch anchovies. Each day, the locals harvest several hundred kilograms of anchovies, earning a comfortable income.

At the Châu Đốc river junction, where two currents meet, creating a whirlpool teeming with fish and shrimp, locals flock there to exploit the resources, creating a bustling scene at the end of the winter season.

Passed down from their ancestors, the people in the upstream region still preserve this rustic beauty to this day. At the front of the boat, they attach a very large net, about 10 meters long, resembling a long claw. To catch fish, they thrust the net deep into the riverbed, then rev the engine to push the boat towards the shore before pulling it up. The fish, caught in the net, jump and wriggle, a captivating sight. On average, each haul yields 3-4 kg of small fish. On days when they hit a good fish, each net can catch nearly 10 kg. Locals say that if they catch fish during a favorable tide, they can catch over 300 kg of small fish a day.

At the end of the flood season, the snakehead fish are as big as a thumb, and traders buy them to make fish sauce for customers. Although the price of snakehead fish is only 15,000 VND/kg, it tastes delicious no matter how it's prepared, especially grilled over charcoal in bamboo skewers, braised with sugarcane, or made into fish cakes... During this season, passing through the Chau Doc river junction or the section of the Tien River in Tan Chau ward, you will see people bustling about with the job of scooping up snakehead fish, earning millions of dong during their leisure time.

The afternoon sun slanted across people's heads, the wind blew gently, and waves lapped softly against the riverbank; the locals continued to diligently push and gather fish, following the ebb tide.
