From the night of June 1st to the early morning of June 2nd, the Russian Armed Forces launched a large-scale, coordinated attack lasting approximately four and a half hours against Ukraine. The main targets were facilities in the capital Kyiv and its suburbs, but other areas were also attacked.

The list of targets attacked included the Ukroboronprom corporation building, the Generator and Esmash plants, the Mayak defense plant's car repair shop, the Vyshneve logistics center in Vyshneve city, an industrial area on Vasylkivska road, and a number of other targets.

According to local sources, Ukraine suffered the biggest and most powerful attacks, as the Russian Army deployed various types of suicide drones and Iskander-M short-range ballistic missiles, and especially the Zircon hypersonic anti-ship missile system.

According to Ukrainian officials, in the attack on the night of June 2nd, the Russian Armed Forces used a significantly higher number of Zircon hypersonic missiles compared to previous attacks.

Russia used eight Zircon missiles launched from ground-based launchers, while the most recent attack using this type of missile on May 24th involved only three, and in both attacks, no air defense system was able to shoot down the Russian hypersonic missiles.

According to Ukrainian experts, Russia has begun launching Zircon missiles into Ukraine from ground-based launchers in the Kursk region, significantly reducing the missile's flight time to Kyiv. The fact that it only takes a few minutes to reach its target has rendered all enemy air defense systems ineffective.

According to Ukrainian government sources, the Russian military currently possesses at least 200 Zircon hypersonic missiles.

They emphasized that even under the best conditions, Ukraine's air defense system would be incapable of intercepting these weapons, not to mention the current shortage of ammunition for air defense systems.

"Russia has stockpiled more than 200 Zircon missiles to attack Ukraine. These missiles could reach the Ukrainian capital within six minutes, and the Ukrainian Air Defense Forces have no means of intercepting them," Ukrainian analysts stated.

This information was indirectly confirmed on June 2nd by Yuriy Ignat, spokesperson for the Ukrainian Air Force.

A Ukrainian military official stated that the Ukrainian government will maintain a shortage of interceptor missiles until the conflict with Russia ends. Therefore, the information that Ukraine has no system to intercept 200 Zircon missiles is entirely plausible.
