Applying AI in the management and operation of cooperatives.

This was a thematic session organized by the Provincial Cooperative Union on the morning of June 11th, attended by over 120 delegates including Chairpersons of the Boards of Directors and Directors of cooperatives and people's credit funds in the province. In addition, leaders from the Cooperative Unions of Khanh Hoa, Lam Dong, and Dak Nong provinces, as well as leaders from relevant departments and agencies, also participated.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Thao, Chairperson of the Provincial Cooperative Union, delivered a speech at the conference.

In her opening remarks, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Thao, Chairwoman of the Provincial Cooperative Union, stated that the conference would convey important content related to the application of AI in the management and operation of cooperatives, aiming to improve the quality of operations of cooperatives and credit funds in the province. In addition, the conference aims to raise awareness about the application of digital technology and AI in management, production, business, data management, and communication. Specifically, it will assess and propose solutions for training and enhancing the knowledge of cooperative officials and members so that they are not left behind in the digital transformation wave.

At the conference, delegates received presentations from Dr. Vo Dang Khoa – Lecturer at the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City – on topics related to digital transformation, the challenges and benefits of applying AI in agriculture; AI applications in marketing and sales; and in management and finance. Through this, representatives from cooperatives and credit unions had the opportunity to exchange and share practical experiences on cooperative models and the practical applications of AI, ChatGPT, and other digital tools in the operation, production, and business activities of cooperatives.

It is known that in recent years, the collective economic sector and cooperatives in the province have made significant progress in applying science and technology and digital transformation. However, there are still many difficulties in accessing and implementing digital applications in production, business, management, and operation. Most cooperatives still lack a digital technology foundation, their workforce has limited technical skills, and their digital skills are weak, while the market increasingly demands flexibility, transparency, and efficiency. Therefore, the application of AI is considered a revolution in working methods, helping the collective economic sector and cooperatives quickly catch up with trends and even create a superior advantage.
