With diverse digital platforms and data repositories, Ms. Le Thi Lan, a teacher of Economics and Law Education at Dong Dau High School (Yen Lac), has "digitized" her classroom, creating a modern learning environment for her students.
Ms. Lan shared: “I use the Padlet application (an online whiteboard) to design my lessons. The application allows me to customize lessons by adding videos , images, links, and lesson materials; at the same time, students can interact and add information and data to these lessons.”
To assign exercises to reinforce and review knowledge, I use Quizizz software, a digital platform that allows users to create or use pre-made, highly interactive learning games that combine entertainment and knowledge acquisition, making learning more engaging for students.
In addition to standard multiple-choice questions, the software includes various games to assess knowledge, such as fill-in-the-blanks, reordering, drag and drop, and open-ended questions.
The assessment and testing of lesson outcomes are partly conducted on the Azota platform, with numerous PDF files and pre-prepared questions that can be customized to user needs, greatly assisting teachers in easily creating online tests and assignments. Students can easily use the applications on their mobile phones, and most of them are very enthusiastic about learning, reviewing, and testing on these platforms.”
The application of information technology, platforms, and digital data in teaching and learning is always actively implemented by teachers at Dong Dau High School with many diverse methods such as exploiting data from the E-learning lecture repository, using electronic lectures, and using software on digital platforms to support activities during class time…
Many teachers have come up with practical initiatives to apply information technology to teaching, such as using AI technology to develop competencies and increase interest in learning Literature; using TikTok to develop English speaking skills; applying artificial intelligence (AI) and online software in teaching, building a digital learning resource library for Agricultural Technology to enhance interest and quality of the subject…
In management, digital applications, platforms, and shared data software are effectively utilized by schools, providing strong support for management and administration.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan, Principal of Hai Luu Kindergarten (Song Lo), said: “Hai Luu Kindergarten has more than 400 children and 30 teachers. The school has two campuses located nearly 10km apart, so using applications and software for management and operation helps to make the work more convenient, efficient, and saves time and costs.”
Based on the curriculum framework and the school year schedule, the school has developed weekly, monthly, and yearly plans and digitized information and data, uploading them to a shared data system for teachers to monitor and understand. Student information is digitized and updated by the school on the interconnected data system of the Education sector.
Currently, I have been issued and am using a digital signature, which is a tool that makes the management and operation process faster and more convenient. Previously, I had to spend 2-3 hours each day printing, reviewing, and signing documents, accounting records, and processing employee benefits for staff and teachers.
Since using digital signatures, it only takes me about 30 minutes to view, approve, and sign documents directly on my computer, saving time and costs on printing and document transportation.”
Over the years, the provincial education sector has promoted the application of information technology and digital transformation in all areas, such as management through the school administration system (including data on schools, classes, teachers, students, grades, academic records, etc.) at http://smas.edu.vn and synchronized with the Ministry of Education and Training's sectoral database, accessible at http://csdl.moet.gov.vn.
Promoting the development of electronic lectures and the application of information technology in teaching; implementing online public services; using electronic documents, student records, and gradebooks to replace paper documents and materials; conducting guidance, management, meetings, and training primarily in an online environment; promoting the application of information and communication technology and digital technology in teaching and educational management, encouraging piloting appropriate digital education models such as e-learning models, digital classrooms, and digital libraries; deploying a shared online learning system for the entire sector…
In the coming period, the education sector will continue to raise awareness and skills in digital transformation among officials, teachers, staff, and students; promote the implementation of IT applications and digital transformation in teaching, learning, and assessment; digital transformation in the management of educational institutions; and build educational databases. Simultaneously, it will ensure the necessary technical infrastructure and prioritize investment in facilities and equipment for IT applications.
