The Cong - Viettel, Hanoi, and Ninh Binh are competing for the runner-up spot after the championship was already secured by Hanoi Police Club. Thanh Hoa, Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL), Becamex Ho Chi Minh City,SHB Da Nang, and PVF-CAND are battling to avoid relegation.

PVF-CAND - Hai Phong : An opportunity for the home team.

PVF-CAND just earned a valuable point away from home against The Cong - Viettel FC. However, with 18 points, PVF-CAND is at the biggest disadvantage in the relegation battle. Specifically, they are currently at the bottom of the table, 2-3 points behind the two closest teams, SHB Da Nang and Becamex Ho Chi Minh City.

Therefore, PVF-CAND must fight to win against Hai Phong at home to keep their hopes alive. A favorable factor for PVF-CAND is that Hai Phong had already lost motivation in the previous round after easily losing 0-2 to SHB Da Nang at Chi Lang Stadium.

PVF-CAND will be without midfielder Thai Ba Dat in this match due to a suspension. Hai Phong will also be without Bui Tien Dung for the same reason. Not to mention a number of other key players for Hai Phong, such as goalkeeper Dinh Trieu, midfielders Trieu Viet Hung and Pham Trung Hieu, who are also likely to miss the game after reaching agreements with new teams.

HAGL vs. Hanoi FC: Fierce competition

HAGL needs a win to secure their survival in the league as soon as possible. Similarly, Hanoi FC also needs a win to compete for second place or at least third place overall, given the close pursuit by Ninh Binh, who also have 45 points.

HAGL currently has 23 points, ranking 11th, but is only 3-5 points ahead of the two bottom teams, SHB Da Nang and PVF-CAND. A play-off spot, or even direct relegation, could be handed to HAGL if they lose both remaining matches. This is a likely scenario considering HAGL's recent form, having only earned 1 point in their last 3 games.

In that difficult situation, the timely return of Technical Director Vu Tien Thanh after his secondment to Ninh Binh Club brought optimism to HAGL. Besides his expertise, Mr. Vu Tien Thanh is also highly regarded for his ability to motivate the players.

Hong Linh Ha Tinh vs SHB Da Nang: Determine their own destiny.

Against hosts Hong Linh Ha Tinh, a win against second-to-last placed SHB Da Nang would likely lift them out of the relegation zone and avoid the relegation play-offs. With a one-point lead over 12th-placed Becamex Ho Chi Minh City, SHB Da Nang have their fate in their own hands. SHB Da Nang have no significant personnel losses in this match, while Hong Linh Ha Tinh will be without captain Nguyen Trong Hoang and center-back Nguyen Viet Trieu due to suspensions. Furthermore, Hong Linh Ha Tinh have already secured their survival in the league, finishing 8th with 28 points.

Hanoi Police vs. Becamex Ho Chi Minh City: Home team plays football because of fans.

Becamex Ho Chi Minh City will find it difficult to spoil the celebration of champions Hanoi Police at Hang Day Stadium. The police team is ready to claim the title with a perfect performance to entertain their home fans.

Becamex Ho Chi Minh City, once in a safe position, has lost its way with an 8-match winless streak (5 losses and 3 draws). Coach Hua Hien Vinh's team is now embroiled in a relegation battle with only 21 points. Meanwhile, Hanoi Police is in high form with the return of striker Nguyen Dinh Bac. With 61 points after 24 rounds, Hanoi Police has secured the championship title three rounds early.

If Becamex TP.HCM loses this match, they will have to play a do-or-die game against HAGL in the final round at home. The final round will determine the 1.5 relegation spots this season, including the team relegated to the First Division and the second-to-last team playing a play-off match against the First Division runner-up.

Truong Tuoi Dong Nai wins the First Division Championship.

On the afternoon of May 30th, Truong Tuoi Dong Nai FC defeated Long An 3-0 at Binh Phuoc Stadium in the penultimate round of the 2025-2026 First Division League, thereby securing the championship and promotion to the V-League next season after many years of waiting.

Coach Nguyen Viet Thang's team clinched the championship title one match early with 50 points after 21 games, 5 points ahead of second-placed Bac Ninh, who won 4-2 against Quy Nhon United in the simultaneous match. Despite the torrential rain, Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc Club celebrated enthusiastically with a low-altitude fireworks display at Binh Phuoc Stadium.
