On the afternoon of April 25th, defending champions Nam Dinh Green Steel will be playing away at Binh Duong. Coach Vu Hong Viet's team hopes to secure three points to overtake Hai Phong for fifth place.
Before the Nam Dinh players had even warmed up, goalkeeper Nguyen Manh's net was breached. In the 3rd minute, Nguyen Tran Viet Cuong broke through and shot from a tight angle to open the scoring for the home team.
After scoring, Becamex Ho Chi Minh City FC played with renewed enthusiasm, employing smooth short passes. This style of play left the Nam Dinh players worried about both finding an equalizer and conceding further goals through counter-attacks.
However, the home team proactively tried to preserve their slender lead. This plan fell apart after a spectacular goal by Giap Tuan Duong. Tuan Duong scored from nearly 35 meters to equalize 1-1 for Nam Dinh Club.
Determined to secure three points and break into the top five, Nguyen Xuan Son and his teammates repeatedly threatened goalkeeper Tran Minh Toan's goal. However, VAR repeatedly ruled the visiting team's players offside.
In the 76th minute, Xuan Son put the ball into an empty net after Lucas Alves' header from a corner kick. However, VAR once again disappointed the visiting team.
Xuan Son was behind the Becamex TP.HCM defense when Lucas touched the ball. The camera angle was quite complicated, so VAR referee Tran Ngoc Anh and his assistant drew lines to prove it afterwards.
Disappointed with his disallowed goal, Xuan Son couldn't help his club secure three points at Binh Duong Stadium. Nam Dinh Steel Green FC now has 28 points, the same as Hai Phong, and is ranked 6th.
Meanwhile, Becamex Ho Chi Minh City FC has 20 points, ranking 11th, 7 points above the relegation zone.
