The annual conference “Build to Last 2024” organized by the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam (CCIFV) is for leaders and innovators committed to sustainable transformation in the Construction industry. In fact, the development of the Construction industry has many impacts on the environment when creating 40% of CO2 emissions. Through 2 panels, many speakers from leading companies in the industry discussed 4 topics: Solutions, Technology, Finance and Policy to promote the Construction industry towards sustainability.

Participating in the discussion as a leading global supplier of lightweight and sustainable building materials, Saint-Gobain shared important information about the Group's sustainable development strategy. Accordingly, the company continues to invest heavily in research and development (R&D) activities to provide multiple lightweight and sustainable material solutions for construction projects in Vietnam, especially green projects.

R&D is an important pillar in Saint-Gobain's Sustainable Development strategy. The Group currently has 8 R&D Centers worldwide with an investment cost of about 600 million USD per year. The speed of innovation is always impressively maintained by Saint-Gobain: 1 in 4 products provided by Saint-Gobain did not exist on the market within the previous 5 years. In the strategic market of Vietnam, Saint-Gobain always closely connects with R&D Centers, aiming to bring an ecosystem of innovative products and optimal solutions for functionality, lightness and sustainability to serve the market.

Typical of Saint-Gobain's lightweight, CO2-reducing material solutions widely used in green buildings today include: Vinh Tuong-gyproc specialized anti-crack interior plaster, reducing CO2 emissions by 75% compared to cement-based plaster; Glass wool with up to 59% recycled content... Or LOW-E glass lines that help reduce solar heat radiation, increasing energy efficiency.

Sharing more about Saint-Gobain's role in the industry's joint efforts to reduce carbon footprint, a representative of Saint-Gobain Vietnam shared: "Saint-Gobain is committed to providing sustainable, lightweight material solutions for the Vietnamese construction industry. At the same time, we are committed to strictly implementing the Group's carbon neutral roadmap by 2050, as well as always supporting initiatives to realize the industry's sustainable development goals."
