We learned about the Head of the CTMT Committee of Ca Cu 2 village from the sharing of Captain Nguyen Van Duc, Deputy Political Commissar of the Border Guard Station (BPCK) Hong Van (stationed in A Luoi 1 commune). Captain Duc said that Ms. Ho Thi Lien is very energetic, always proactive in coordinating with the unit in helping people, at the same time propagating and mobilizing people to comply with policies, solidarity and help each other in labor production, economic development and joining hands to build the homeland. About 2 years ago, Ms. Lien "proposed" and received support from the Border Guard Station Hong Van with 30 thousand acacia seedlings and support for planting acacia. After the process of screening and meeting with the people, this amount of acacia seedlings was focused on supporting 3 families: Tran Xuan Chuc, Tran Minh Dung, Ho Trong, who are poor and disadvantaged households.
Taking us to visit the tall, healthy acacia plantations covering the hills, Ms. Lien excitedly said that since the border guards supported the acacia seedlings and helped with planting and caring for the trees, the families of Mr. Chuc, Dung and Trong have been working harder and harder in production; going to the fields every day from early morning and returning home late in the afternoon. “In addition to corn, cassava and rice for daily life, the acacia hills will be a source of capital accumulated after each harvest season, so the people are very excited and motivated to strive,” Ms. Lien said.
Over the years, in her role as Head of the CTMT Committee, Ms. Lien has coordinated with the Village Chief, Village Party Secretary and organizations to connect units and donors to support livelihood models for poor and disadvantaged households. The good news is that the acacia hills have grown, the flocks of chickens and geese have multiplied, creating more income and food sources for the family, motivating many households in the village to learn and follow suit, and the lives of the people have become more and more stable and prosperous.
When Nguyen Hong Tam's family was supported with 60 million VND to build a Great Unity house; officers and soldiers of Hong Van Border Guard Station helped, the Head of the CTMT Committee of Ca Cu 2 village mobilized the villagers to join hands with the soldiers and contribute to building a house for Tam's family. "Having a spacious and solid house, my family feels secure and tries harder to develop the economy so as not to disappoint the affection and efforts of the border guards and the people," Tam confided.
Mr. Ho Van Thien and many people in Ca Cu 2 village said sincere words: Always trust and love the female head of the village CTMT committee. When seeing any old, lonely, or difficult household, Ms. Lien stands up to connect the border guards, organizations, and philanthropists to help, support livelihood models, and give gifts. "In the process of following the people, seeing the supported households develop a stable and effective economy, I am happy as if it is my own joy," Ms. Lien smiled simply.
The dedicated and responsible front officer said that the people in this remote border land, although life is still difficult, are ready to donate land and assets on land so that many roads in Ca Cu 2 village can be expanded and concreted; and are ready to contribute so that many lighting projects can be built to light up the village...
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Tuan, Political Commissar and Lieutenant Colonel Ho Van Ha, Head of Hong Van Border Guard Station expressed their respect for Ms. Ho Thi Lien. “Ms. Lien is very active, responsible and effective in front work. Over the past years, she has closely coordinated with the unit to successfully complete the task of mobilizing people to implement and comply with policies, laws and build new rural areas,” said Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Tuan.
