Along with some of the opinions mentioned above, some argue that humans should not eat meat based on evolutionary and biological aspects.

People should eat a full and balanced diet of foods of animal and plant origin.

According to the Institute of Applied Medicine (Vietnam Medical Association), in reality, many people choose to be vegan for health reasons. Others choose for ethical reasons, with the desire to avoid cruelty to animals and consume more sustainable food. Of course, this is a personal choice and perspective.

Choosing any style of food consumption should also consider the benefits and risks to the body, so that those methods become suitable and bring many positive effects to health.

Eat a full, balanced diet of animal and plant foods.

Regarding the role of animal-based foods in health, modern nutritional science has shown that animal-based foods provide certain essential nutrients that plant-based foods do not have or only have very low levels of, or are difficult to absorb during digestion. This is the reason why people should eat a full and balanced diet, including both animal and plant-based foods.

For example, vitamin B12 is an essential nutrient that cannot be obtained from plant-based foods alone. Vitamin B12 is essential for the normal functioning of the nervous system and the formation of red blood cells. This is why vegetarians should take vitamin B12 supplements.

Or vegetarians may not get enough iron in their daily diet, because plant foods only provide small amounts of iron and the absorption of iron from plant foods is much lower than the absorption rate from animal foods. Iron deficiency greatly affects overall health, especially in women and pregnant women.

According to the Vietnam Institute of Applied Medicine, from evidence from global studies, the answer to the question "should humans eat meat?" in terms of health and nutrition is "yes".

Scientific evidence and research conducted over many years around the world have proven that humans are "designed" to be able to eat both animal and plant foods.

Foods of animal origin contain many important and necessary nutrients for the human body that foods of plant origin do not have; and vice versa.

Especially for the development of young children, many important nutrients in animal foods are difficult to replace with a plant-based diet, even if supplemented with drugs and food supplements. Therefore, this is a group of subjects that needs to be prioritized in the diet to ensure adequate balanced nutrition of animals and plants.
