During the historic days of April, the image of the red flag with yellow star becomes even more sacred and meaningful. In that atmosphere, the national flag keychains meticulously handcrafted from tiny woolen threads are creating a special "fever" on social networks. Behind these unique products is the inspiring story of Ms. Pham Thao Doan (30 years old), a young designer in Ho Chi Minh City.

From her passion for crocheting to relieve stress, Thao Doan became interested in creating unique handmade products. Initially, she mainly made dolls and sold them on e-commerce platforms. However, the idea of national flag keychains came about by chance in September last year.
The opportunity to spread the love for the national flag came unexpectedly when Thao Doan's husband, a history lover, heard about the artillery practice at Bach Dang wharf park.
She came up with the idea of crocheting about 20 small flags to give to young people. The clip recording this moment quickly went "viral" on TikTok, receiving love and enthusiastic response from the online community.
"My family has a tradition of being party members, so spreading love for the Vietnamese flag has a very special meaning to me. I felt very proud at that time" - Ms. Thao Doan shared.
Not only stopping at the national flag and the Liberation flag, Ms. Thao Doan also created two special crochet dolls for this April festival: a doll of Uncle Ho’s soldiers and a doll of a Vietnamese girl wearing a conical hat. She hopes to bring handmade products with strong Vietnamese characteristics, contributing to spreading more love for the homeland and country in the community.
Each small flag keychain is sold by Ms. Thao Doan for 35,000 VND. Although she only sells retail through fanpage and TikTok, the number of orders has increased rapidly. To date, she has received more than 100 orders, equivalent to about 250 flags and is still trying to complete them in time to deliver to customers before April 30.
