[Video] Reviewing and updating information for textbooks after the merger

The Ministry of Education and Training said that while waiting for textbooks to be revised and updated according to new administrative boundaries and organizational models, teachers and students will continue to use current books.

After the restructuring of provincial administrative units and the application of a two-tier government model from July 1, many contents in textbooks, especially in the subjects of History and Geography, are no longer suitable for reality.
The Ministry will issue specific guidance documents, in the spirit of enhancing the initiative of schools and teachers in adjusting lesson content to suit local realities.

The implementation principle is to minimize changes to textbooks, instead updating and supplementing information through appendices and teaching instructions. The Ministry is also completing the review and assessment of the practical implementation of the 2018 General Education Program to make adjustments more suitable to the requirements of innovation and socio-economic development at each stage.

Localities are required to proactively develop localeducational content suitable for the new boundaries, ensuring consistency with the framework program issued by the Ministry.
