The Vietnamese delegation was formed less than 20 days before the competition. This is also the first time Vietnam has sent contestants to IMChO.
The International Mendeleev Chemistry Olympiad was first held in 1967 by the Ministry of Education of the former Soviet Union. Since 2004, the competition has been open to many countries. Winners of the IMChO will have the opportunity to be directly admitted to the Faculty of Chemistry, Moscow State University.
The Mendeleev International Chemistry Olympiad exam has no limits, is often more difficult than IChO (International Chemistry Olympiad) and other international chemistry exams, so it is known as "The most difficult chemistry exam on the planet".
