On the morning of September 15, 120 Vietnamese and Chinese tourists experienced the Ban Gioc and Duc Thien waterfall landscapes in a year-long tourism cooperation activity.

Responding to VnExpress , Ms. To Thi Trang, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Cao Bang province, said that this landscape area was officially put into pilot operation from September 15, the pilot period lasts for one year.

On the morning of September 15, three Vietnamese tourist groups visited the Ban Gioc - Duc Thien waterfall area and three Chinese groups, each with 20 people. During this time, Vietnamese and Chinese tourists can visit the Ban Gioc - Duc Thien waterfall landscape without a visa, only need a passport or travel document.

Bui Thi Hoai, 30 years old, from Cao Bang , was one of 60 Vietnamese tourists experiencing the Chinese side of the landscape on the morning of September 15. Hoai said this was her first time visiting Duc Thien waterfall and commented that the area was "very beautiful, large-scale and professional". In addition, this tourist destination also has many entertainment areas and great views to fully admire the waterfall on the Chinese side.

According to Ms. Trang, the pilot operation of the Ban Gioc - Duc Thien waterfall landscape area is of great significance in economic development cooperation, friendly exchange in the border area, especially tourism development. This landscape area will contribute to attracting a large number of tourists, especially international tourists to Cao Bang, towards the successful implementation of the goal of developing the Ban Gioc waterfall tourist area into a key tourist destination of the province and the country.

Agreement on Cooperation in Protection and Exploitation of Tourism Resources of Ban Gioc Waterfall (Vietnam) - Detian Waterfall (China) between Vietnam and China signed on November 5, 2015 in Hanoi. Accordingly, the two sides agreed to establish the Ban Gioc Waterfall Scenic Area (Vietnam) - Detian Waterfall (China) with an area of ​​400 hectares, including a part of Vietnam's territory and a part of China's territory (200 hectares on the Vietnamese side, 200 hectares on the Chinese side), jointly protecting and cooperating in effective exploitation of resources.

During the pilot period, tour operators from Vietnam to China must purchase insurance for tourists before entering the scenic area on the Chinese side. Tourists must pay for other services at actual costs, according to baochinhphu.vn . Tourists from China to Vietnam must purchase tickets, the ticket price is 70,000 VND per person (including insurance, excluding other service fees).

During the pilot period, tourists from both countries must register in advance, in groups, with each group not exceeding 20 people. During the first three months of the pilot period, the number of tourist groups crossing the border from each side must not exceed 10 groups per day.
