Vietnam Airlines has announced an increase in the frequency of flights on the Hanoi - Manila route to daily service starting April 1st. The Ho Chi Minh City - Manila route will also have its flight schedule adjusted to better meet passenger demand.
To meet the growing travel demand between Vietnam and the Philippines, Vietnam Airlines will increase the frequency of the Hanoi - Manila route from 3 flights/week to 7 flights/week, equivalent to 1 flight/day.

Vietnam Airlines is the first Vietnamese airline to operate direct flights to the Philippines.
The flight schedule between Ho Chi Minh City and Manila will be adjusted to four flights per week on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Thus, from April 2025, the total number of flights between Vietnam and the Philippines will increase to 11 flights per week, facilitating travel and trade between the two countries.
According to Mr. Dang Anh Tuan, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Airlines, from June 2024, Vietnam Airlines will be the first Vietnamese airline to operate a direct flight connecting Vietnam and the Philippines.
"After nearly a year of operation, the flight route between Vietnam and the Philippines has affirmed its role as a transportation bridge, and also as an important driving force promoting economic , tourism and cultural cooperation between the two countries."
"Increasing the frequency of flights between Hanoi and Manila demonstrates Vietnam Airlines' commitment to providing maximum convenience for passengers, while also contributing to affirming Vietnam's position on the regional aviation map," Mr. Tuan said, expressing his belief that with this development, bilateral relations between Vietnam and the Philippines will become even stronger, opening up many new opportunities for both sides.
The Philippines is a promising market for Vietnam Airlines. In 2024, the number of Filipino tourists visiting Vietnam increased by 73.6% compared to the previous year, while the number of Vietnamese tourists visiting the Philippines also reached nearly 60,000, according to data from the Philippine Department of Tourism. These figures demonstrate great prospects for the development of tourism and trade between the two countries.
The increased frequency of flights between Vietnam and the Philippines marks an important step forward in connecting the two countries.
According to a representative from Vietnam Airlines, this event is even more significant as it coincides with the 30th anniversary of Vietnam Airlines Corporation, reflecting the airline's continuous efforts over the past three decades to connect Vietnam with the world.
In 2025, Vietnam Airlines plans to open and restore 15 international routes to key destinations such as Italy, Russia, Denmark, China, India, Japan, South Korea, and the UAE, offering passengers more choices and convenient experiences.
