Deputy Minister Pham Duc Long and Deputy Minister Bui Hoang Phuong visited and extended New Year greetings to Vietnam Post Corporation.
In a quick report to the leaders of the Ministry of Information and Communications , Vietnam Post Corporation stated that during the peak period of the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake, Vietnam Post flexibly implemented plans and concentrated its efforts on safely handling, transporting, distributing, and delivering millions of postal items before Tet.
From January 25th to February 1st, 2025 (corresponding to the 26th day of the 12th lunar month to the 4th day of the Lunar New Year), the volume of goods and postal items transported reached 1,051 tons (a 45% increase compared to the same period in 2024). Nearly 884,000 copies of Tet (Lunar New Year) newspapers were successfully transported, processed, and distributed. Notably, on January 28th, 2025 (the 29th day of the 12th lunar month), nearly 100,000 copies of the daily Nhan Dan newspaper were transported and distributed to agencies, units, and readers nationwide.
From the very first days of the new year, while many businesses were still on holiday, Vietnam Post was already on the move, pioneering the processing and transportation of the first shipments to customers. For example, on February 1st and 2nd, 2025 (the 4th and 5th days of the Lunar New Year), the Cau Giay Central Post Office, in coordination with the Hanoi City Post Office's Transportation and Warehousing Center, received and processed nearly 16,000 mail items from major customers. Despite the high volume of mail, thanks to a rigorous process and the efforts and determination of each officer, employee, and worker, all mail items were matched and delivered on the same day.
Not a single moment of delay, not a single order left behind – that is Vietnam Post's commitment to dedicated service and accurate, timely delivery to recipients in 2025.
Besides delivering goods and mail, and ensuring the safety and security of KT1 delivery services (documents and materials of the Party and State), banking and financial services also saw a strong increase during the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake. On average, over 1,000 transactions were processed daily, with a total daily cash inflow and outflow reaching nearly 900 billion VND, a 12.5% increase compared to the same period last year. The balance of Postal Savings services across the entire network during Tet reached over 84,900 billion VND, an increase of more than 1,135 billion VND compared to the end of 2024.
The payment of pensions and social insurance benefits for January and February 2025 has been largely completed in localities, with a total amount of over 8,400 billion VND disbursed to 758,949 beneficiaries. The payment of preferential allowances for war veterans and Tet (Lunar New Year) gifts to policy beneficiary families for January and February 2025 has been successfully disbursed, totaling 3,050 billion VND. Social welfare payments have been made quickly, totaling 3,675 billion VND for over 2,800 beneficiaries.

Deputy Minister Bui Hoang Phuong emphasized that in the past, Vietnam Post has been a pioneer and leader in removing institutional bottlenecks in the postal sector, and in the coming period, the Corporation needs to continue to promote that spirit even more.
To meet the shopping needs of people during the Lunar New Year holiday, Vietnam Post has deployed more than 3,000 sales points at post offices and community post offices. In particular, the Corporation has coordinated with provincial/city labor federations to organize stalls and participate in trade union Tet markets both online and in person at local locations. This contributes to ensuring a stable and diverse supply of goods, food, and other necessities during Tet, providing convenience for people and customers when shopping for products and goods during the traditional Lunar New Year.
Deputy Minister Pham Duc Long stated that Vietnam Post Corporation has a development strategy, determination, internal unity, cohesion, and sharing, and will certainly succeed.
Deputy Minister Bui Hoang Phuong emphasized that in the past, Vietnam Post has been a pioneer and leader in removing institutional bottlenecks in the postal sector, and in the coming period, the Corporation needs to continue to promote that spirit even more.
Deputy Minister Bui Hoang Phuong stated that Vietnam Post has many advantages, including being a unit directly under the Ministry of Information and Communications - the state management agency for postal services. The Corporation is fully capable of proposing policies and mechanisms to further promote the development of Vietnam's postal services.
According to Mr. Chu Quang Hao, General Director of Vietnam Post Corporation, Vietnam Post is entering a new phase with extremely urgent requirements and needs many breakthroughs to develop steadily alongside the country. This requires the entire system to work together, united in purpose, and dedicate all its efforts to effectively implement the strategic directions that have been set forth.
"With a new spirit and the determination to 'Advance and Win,' Vietnam Post has accelerated and acted decisively from the very first day and month, determined to achieve the 25% growth target in 2025, creating a foundation for increasing income and achieving accomplishments to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the postal industry," Mr. Chu Quang Hao emphasized.
Mr. Nguyen Truong Giang, Head of the Board of Members of Vietnam Post Corporation, said that from the very first morning of returning to work after the Tet holiday, the entire network promptly began implementing the business plan. The Corporation's leadership has instructed and required all officials, employees, and workers to seriously and effectively carry out their work with the highest level of dedication and quality.
