The Military Industry - Telecommunications Group ( Viettel ) announced that it will officially start construction of An Khanh Data Center and Viettel Research & Development Center on August 19, 2025.
This activity is part of the event of simultaneously starting and inaugurating 250 projects in 34 provinces/cities across the country with a total investment of 1.28 million billion VND on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2.
These two key projects have fundamental significance, affirming Viettel's pioneering role in implementing Resolution 57 of the Politburo on developing a system of research and testing centers, key national laboratories, focusing on strategic technologies.
Viettel Research & Development Center – Completing the High-Tech Complex Puzzle

The Viettel Research & Development Center project is invested with 10,000 billion VND on an area of 13 hectares in Hoa Lac High-Tech Park. The project includes 6 smart buildings, expected to be completed in 2030.
This will be a key R&D center, closing the entire process of research - design - testing - production of high-tech products Made in Vietnam. From mastering the technologies to manufacture missiles, cruise engines, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), remote sensing satellites, radars, etc. to create military equipment products suitable for the requirements of protecting the Fatherland to researching and applying technologies on big data (Big Data), artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, etc. to develop equipment, software, solutions, platforms, and services that meet the actual needs of the market and are in line with world technology trends.
The project applies international standards in design and operation, integrating the elements: smart, green, sustainable to meet both high professional requirements and environmental friendliness. This is also a project built with a system that ensures absolute safety and security, uses the most modern technology and is protected through many layers.
It is expected to attract 2,500 high-quality personnel to meet the requirements of the tasks and policies of the Party, State, and Ministry of National Defense in the field of research and production of military equipment to help modernize the army, improve combat strength and the ability to protect the country in the new situation.
An Khanh Data Center - Platform for National Digital Transformation

An Khanh Data Center is built on an area of 1.9 hectares, with a total investment of VND 17,500 billion and a designed capacity of 60MW. The center is expected to become the largest data center in the North. Phase 1 is expected to operate from the second quarter of 2026 and by 2030 will be upgraded to become Viettel's second Hyperscale Data Center.
The project is designed according to Uptime Tier III standards, integrating AI developed by Viettel, a 5-layer security system and modern cooling technology, ensuring green and sustainable operations, towards the Government's Net Zero goal. This will be a key infrastructure, serving the digital transformation of the Government, the Ministry of National Defense, large enterprises and the deployment of artificial intelligence on a national scale.

In 2025, Viettel has deployed the construction of a series of projects of strategic significance such as: Tan Phu Trung Data Center, Viettel Da Nang Building... contributing to the completion of a modern technology infrastructure network, meeting the goals of national defense development and digital transformation./.
