In Quang Ninh province, the Ministry of Information and Communications recently held a "Workshop on management in radio and television activities" with the participation of more than 190 delegates from radio and television stations across the country.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam - Deputy Minister of Information and Communications chaired the workshop.
This is one of the activities in the 2023 work program of the Ministry of Information and Communications; at the same time, it is also an event within the Project "Developing Vietnamese journalism in the period 2020-2024" in the 4th year with the companionship of Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company ( Vinamilk ).
The workshop was organized for the purpose of giving directors/general directors of radio and television stations the opportunity to directly discuss with leaders of the Ministry of Information and Communications about difficulties and problems in radio and television broadcasting activities in recent times; it is an opportunity for functional units of the Ministry of Information and Communications and related ministries and branches to exchange, discuss, and provide direct responses to recommendations of radio and television stations.
Delegates shared about current broadcasting trends at home and abroad.
Within the framework of the workshop, delegates will be provided with an overview of the activities of the broadcasting sector in the past year by state management agencies; listen to speakers and experts present on listening and viewing trends of audiences, television advertising trends in Vietnam, and how to measure audiences in the digital media era.
At the same time, at the workshop, delegates exchanged, discussed and answered questions related to economic and technical norms, unit prices, and ordering mechanisms for providing public services using the state budget. From there, find solutions to remove difficulties for radio and television stations to continue to develop sustainably, successfully complete the tasks of political propaganda, policy communication, and better serve the people's need for information and healthy entertainment.
Speaking at the workshop, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Lam emphasized that the Ministry of Information and Communications will accept recommendations and proposals, and at the same time have specific plans to report to the Government, amend documents, and issue new policies, thereby actively innovating State management activities on radio and television, creating momentum for the development of radio and television stations.
“In June, the important thing is to submit a revision to the list of public career services using the State budget in the field of information and communication. In which, a series of tasks, non-existing spending caps, and transmission costs on all infrastructures, from traditional to network infrastructure, will be added. Without this, digital transformation of the press will not be possible, and we will protect this,” said Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam.
The conference program attracted many representatives of television stations and media units across the country.
“Workshop on management work in radio and television activities in 2023” is one of the series of activities of the Vietnam Press Development project for the period 2020-2024, with the continuous support of Vinamilk, aiming to support the development of Vietnamese revolutionary press to integrate with the development of world press.
After 3 years (2020-2022), the project has successfully organized more than 20 activities including organizing training courses, forums, seminars on technology, journalism, publishing 6 books on journalism... reaching nearly 10,000 press managers, media managers, and press reporters nationwide.
