VinFast VF3 and VF5 occupied the top two best-selling cars in October 2024.

According to VAMA, total market sales reached 38,761 vehicles in October 2024, a 6% increase compared to the previous month and a 53% increase compared to the same period last year.

The Hyundai Grand i10 dominated the A-segment with sales reaching 753 units, nearly four times more than the next-place Toyota Wigo.

The B-segment car market remains dominated by the familiar trio of Toyota Vios, Honda City, and Hyundai Accent. Of these, the Toyota Vios continues to lead with 1,757 units sold.

After months of back-and-forth, the Mazda3 finally pulled ahead, leaving the Kia K3 far behind in October 2024. Specifically, the Mazda3 sold 676 units, nearly double the number sold by its closest competitor.

D-segment cars didn't sell very well in October, with even the Toyota Camry failing to reach sales of over 100 units. With only 4 units sold despite discounts of up to 220 million VND, the Honda Accord not only had the lowest sales in its segment but was also the least-selling model (not considered a hobby car) in the entire market. The Honda Civic Type R didn't sell any units in October, but this result isn't surprising as it's a niche hobby car with limited import volumes.

The MPV segment remains dominated by the Mitsubishi Xpander, with 2,131 units sold. It was also the best-selling internal combustion engine model in the entire market in October 2024.

Unsurprisingly, the pickup truck segment saw the Ford Ranger continue to dominate with 1,881 units sold, a sharp increase of 27.6% compared to the previous month.

For the first time since the beginning of 2024, the Hyundai Santa Fe has achieved monthly sales exceeding 1,000 units. However, it still lags behind the Ford Everest.

The most surprising shift in rankings was in the B-segment SUV category. The Toyota Yaris Cross dethroned the "sales phenomenon" Xforce to take the top spot with 1,510 units sold. The Toyota Corolla Cross also experienced a strong resurgence with 1,402 units sold, ranking third in the segment. This brought the model back into the top 10 of the gasoline-powered car group in the overall market.

Mazda CX-5 sold 2,008 units in October 2024, an 8.1% increase compared to the previous month, closely trailing Mitsubishi Xpander in the overall rankings.
