On the morning of December 19th, along with the rest of the country, Vinh Long simultaneously commenced construction and inaugurated many key projects.
The groundbreaking ceremony was held in a hybrid format, combining in-person and online participation, simultaneously with other key projects nationwide, to celebrate the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

* Commencement of the Đình Khao Bridge construction project.
The People's Committee of Vinh Long province solemnly held the groundbreaking ceremony for the investment project to build the Dinh Khao bridge connecting Vinh Long and Ben Tre provinces (now part of Vinh Long province) under the public-private partnership (PPP) method.
Attending the groundbreaking ceremony were: Tran Van Lau – Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Minh Dung – Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Tran Tri Quang – Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Kim Ngoc Thai – Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province; along with leaders and former leaders of the provinces of Vinh Long, Ben Tre, and Tra Vinh (formerly), leaders of departments and agencies, and a large number of people in the project area.
The Dinh Khao Bridge project was invested in to replace the Dinh Khao ferry, alleviate traffic congestion on National Highway 57, create a positive social impact, strengthen public trust and consensus on transportation infrastructure projects, and contribute to promoting socio-economic development in the region.

According to the design, the project has a total length of approximately 4.3km, built to the standards of a Class III road in a flat area, with a design speed of 80km/h; the road surface and bridges along the route are 12m wide (2 lanes), and will be 20.5m wide (4 lanes) upon completion. The Dinh Khao bridge over the Co Chien River is approximately 1.54km long and will be completed with 4 lanes.
The project is expected to take approximately 20.7 years to complete; including about 3 years for construction and a payback period of approximately 17.7 years according to the financial plan. The project will be implemented under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, specifically a Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) contract.
* Commencement of construction for the social housing project in the Long Chau Ward Administrative and Residential Area.
The People's Committee of Vinh Long province, in coordination with Phu Cuong Investment Joint Stock Company, solemnly held the groundbreaking ceremony for the social housing project in the administrative and residential area of Long Chau ward.
Attending the groundbreaking ceremony were: Mr. Dang Van Chinh – Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Truong Thanh Danh – Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province; along with former provincial leaders, leaders of departments, agencies, localities and representatives of the investor.
The social housing project in the Long Chau Ward Administrative and Residential Area is being implemented on a plot of land approximately 5,800m², comprising a 15-story building with 449 apartments. The total investment for the project is approximately 614 billion VND. Upon completion, the project will gradually contribute to addressing the housing needs of low-income individuals, officials, civil servants, and workers in the province.
