According to Mr. Le Van Dung, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Vinh Long province, the province's need to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses is 1,328 houses (492 newly built houses, 836 repaired houses).
The results of the implementation of the support work to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Vinh Long province have been 100% completed. Of which, people with meritorious services to the revolution, relatives of martyrs: 497/497 houses, reaching 100% (Construction: 51 houses, repair: 446 houses); poor and near-poor households: 790/790 houses, 100% (Construction: 370 houses, repair: 363 houses); ethnic minority households: 41/41 houses, reaching 100%. The total implementation cost is 86.1285 billion VND.
According to the Steering Committee of Vinh Long province, the implementation of the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses has received attention, direction, and consensus from Party committees, authorities, organizations, and people.
The coordination work of the Steering Committees at all levels in implementing the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses has been well promoted, contributing to the quick, accurate and correct screening of the subjects in need of support, thereby creating many advantages in the implementation process .
The work of discussing, selecting and listing people who are eligible for support to implement the removal of temporary and dilapidated houses has been carried out in accordance with regulations by localities. The work of mobilizing resources of members of the Steering Committee and localities has been strongly promoted, supporting people to build and repair houses to ensure progress.
The increased level of support for housing construction and repair for beneficiaries has created favorable conditions for beneficiaries in carrying out housing construction and repair.
Discussing the good practices of Long Ho district, Mr. Vo Trung Son, Vice Chairman of Long Ho district People's Committee said: The whole district has 104 households having their houses newly built and repaired for households with housing difficulties. In order for the program to be highly effective, Long Ho district has mobilized the participation of the entire political system, mobilized philanthropists, self-reliance of each household, and the help of the people, thereby creating a spreading, exciting atmosphere in the community.
"This is a key task in poverty reduction in Long Ho district, spreading the spirit of solidarity and sharing among the people, becoming a bright spot in the socio-economic development of Long Ho district," said Mr. Vo Trung Son.
The representative of the Standing Committee of the Fatherland Front of Vung Liem district said that through review and assessment, the district has 239 houses that need to be repaired and new houses built for people, speeding up construction progress, ensuring quality and efficiency of use... The Fatherland Front Committee of the district closely supervises, organizes propaganda and mobilization, does not allow questions or complaints, creates fairness and transparency to create consensus and support from the people and benefactors for this work.
This work has mobilized diverse resources, combining the state budget, social mobilization and people's contributions to help increase the program's proactiveness and sustainability.

Speaking at the Conference, Secretary of Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee Tran Tien Dung, Head of the Steering Committee, commended and appreciated the great results in the effective implementation of the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses as launched by the Prime Minister.
This result was completed 6 months ahead of schedule, truly promoting patriotism and mutual love in the community, having profound significance in mobilizing the masses, creating high consensus in social security work in particular and socio-economic development in general of Vinh Long province.
Through this, all levels and sectors need to promptly commend and reward individuals, groups and households in this work to create encouragement and promote other emulation movements in the province in the coming time. In particular, continue to promote the spirit of self-reliance and self-improvement of the people in eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses and other movements in the province.
