VN-Index retreated to 1,660 points

VTV.vn - Under strong selling pressure, the stock market ultimately failed to hold firm and reversed course, falling in the afternoon session of November 25th.

The VN-Index closed at 1,660.36 points, down nearly 8 points.

The main index on the domestic stock market did not record significant fluctuations this morning, but there was still a fairly clear divergence between different industry groups.

The real estate sector performed well, with VIC rising nearly 3%. HAG also attracted attention with a gain of over 5%. Industrial real estate also contributed to the main index, with KBC increasing by more than 3%.

In the banking and securities sector, only a few individual stocks, such as HDB and VFS, saw gains, while the rest were in the red.

In the oil and gas sector, some stocks continued to attract investment, such as PVD and PVS, which rose by around 2%, while BSR also saw a slight increase.

Foreign investors sold a net of over 350 billion VND, contributing to the overall downward pressure on the main index this morning.

The stock market reversed course, with the VN-Index falling to 1,660 points.

At the close of trading on November 25th, the VN-Index stood at 1,660.36 points, down nearly 8 points, while the HNX-Index lost 4 points, falling to 257 points.

Red dominated the financial sector, with SSI falling by 4.5%, and many others such as SHS, EIB, VND, MBS, and ABB declining by 3-4%. A few stocks remained in positive territory, including HDB, LPB, and VFS. The real estate sector also mostly declined, with VRE, DIG, IDC, VHM, CEO, NVL, PDR, and KHG all losing ground, while only a few stocks like VIC, KBC, and VPI bucked the trend.

Conversely, the industrial goods group performed positively with GEE, GEX, BMP, PAC, and SJG rising; GEE and PAC even hit their upper limit. VJC also recorded a purple color (indicating a significant increase), maintaining its upward momentum from the beginning of the session.

Cash flow improved in the afternoon session, helping HOSE's trading value increase by more than 50% compared to the previous session, and HNX's trading value also doubled. The total trading value across the entire market reached nearly 30,000 billion VND, indicating that bottom-buying is becoming more confident.

Foreign investors continued to put pressure on the overall market, selling a net of approximately 400 billion VND, significantly lower than the trillions of VND sold earlier in the week.

On the HOSE, foreign investors sold a net 356 billion VND, with SSI leading the way at 192 billion VND, followed by VIC and VHM with net sales of 136 billion VND and 123 billion VND respectively. On the HNX, foreign investors bought a net 12 billion VND, while UPCOM saw net selling of 55 billion VND.

Today's decline shows that the market remains highly polarized. Selling pressure is concentrated on financial and real estate stocks, while stocks like VJC, GEE, and PAC are in high demand.

Cash flow improved, and bargain-hunting increased in the afternoon session, but foreign investors maintained net selling pressure, reminding us that the recovery is not yet uniform. Analysts suggest that investors need to weigh opportunities and risks, choosing stocks with stable cash flow, clear projects, and business results. Today's stock market performance also reflects the market's shift to a selective correction phase, opening up opportunities for cautious investment strategies, focusing on quality stocks with the potential to generate sustainable profits.
