Since returning to V-League 2023, Hanoi Police won the tournament that year. This season, Coach Polking's team only finished 3rd in V-League but escaped "empty-handed" when winning the National Cup championship.
Although they had to play on the opponent's field, the quality of Mr. Polking's team was far superior to Song Lam Nghe An . Possessing a squad of top stars in Vietnam, the Public Security team quickly took control of the game and opened the score in the 6th minute, thanks to Nguyen Quang Hai.
From that point on, the home team Song Lam Nghe An, with a core of young players, had to endure a "rain" of goals. The statistics of the match for the "throne" of the National Cup this season clearly showed the difference in class between the two teams. While Song Lam Nghe An only had two shots on goal, Coach Polking's team dominated with no less than 10 dangerous shots and brought home 5 goals.
Confidently deploying a diverse attacking style, striker Alan Grafite scored a hat-trick of his own, alongside a goal from teammate Leo Artur. Defeating the Nghe An team, the Hanoi Police Club won the National Cup for the first time in history. This is also the first title of coach Polking in Vietnamese football.
More than 20 years after being dissolved and returning to the V-League from the 2023 season, Hanoi Police Club has also completed the double of the most prestigious titles in the domestic playground. This achievement will motivate Quang Hai and his teammates towards the 2025-2026 season, with the top goal of winning the V-League.
Song Lam Nghe An became the runner-up of the tournament, receiving a prize of 1 billion VND. Binh Duong and The Cong Viettel clubs finished third overall.
