VPBank introduces Apple Pay

VPBank links with Apple Pay to allow users to use iPhone, Apple Watch, and Mac to make direct payments when shopping or using services instead of the bank's physical card.

VPBank representative said that this method is suitable for the cashless payment trend that is being promoted in society, on the other hand, it helps customers avoid giving their payment cards to others, touching physical payment buttons or exchanging cash and using iPhone to protect all transactions.

To use it, customers double-tap and hold their iPhone or Apple Watch near the payment terminal. To activate Apple Pay, users need an iPhone 6 or later running iOS 12.5.2 or later. The service also supports Watch Series 4 or later, but requires at least watchOS 9 and must be paired with an iPhone 8 or later.

Apple Pay transactions are highly secure when authenticated with Face ID, Touch ID, or your device's passcode, along with a dynamic one-time security code.

"Digitalization applications at VPBank are increasingly focused on each product and service to bring customers better experiences. With the introduction of Apple Pay, we hope to bring a new, modern and secure payment method to users," shared a VPBank representative.

Customers can use Apple Pay on iPhone, iPad, and Mac to make in-app or web purchases through Safari without creating an account or entering shipping and payment information multiple times. It can also be used to pay within apps on Apple Watch.

To set up Apple Pay, on iPhone, users open the Wallet app, tap the plus sign (+), and follow the instructions to add a VPBank credit or debit card. Customers can add a VPBank credit or debit card to Apple Pay from the VPBank NEO app. In addition, customers can also register for a debit card online via the VPBank NEO app, the card will be issued immediately and added to Apple Pay.

After adding the card to iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad and Mac, customers can start using Apple Pay on that device immediately. Customers will continue to receive all the rewards points and benefits offered by VPBank cards. Holders of international credit and debit cards Mastercard and Visa issued by VPBank will be able to add the card to the Wallet app.

Apple Pay is a mobile payment service that has been deployed in the US since October 2014. Instead of swiping a credit card, users just need to place their iPhone and Apple Watch near payment machines at supermarkets, stores, restaurants, etc. The machines communicate via NFC connection and are authenticated before each transaction by fingerprint - with iPhones supporting TouchID - or FaceID facial recognition. To date, Apple's payment service is available in more than 70 countries and regions and cooperates with more than 10,000 banking partners worldwide .
