In recent days, the incident of a foreign tourist wearing a bikini sitting on the back of a motorbike, traveling on a road surrounded by majestic mountains, has caused many mixed opinions in the public.

According to research, the route that tourists pass through is located in Du Gia commune, Ha Giang (old) now in Tuyen Quang province. This is also the area about 2km from Du Gia waterfall.

In response to many opinions that this image is inappropriate when appearing in public spaces, especially in highland areas where many ethnic minorities live with unique cultural and traditional values, on the evening of September 12, a representative of the transportation unit - which provides car rental services with drivers for tourists, said that they wanted to send a sincere apology regarding the recent scandal.

Speaking with Dan Tri reporter, the transport unit said the incident stemmed from a lack of understanding and incorrect awareness.

A driver of the company posted a video of a group of foreign tourists wearing bikinis moving from Du Gia waterfall to the homestay. The representative denied that the tourists intentionally wore bikinis to walk on the street or in public places.

The male driver then shared the video on his personal page. The video quickly trended, attracting 1.1 million views.

With opinions saying that this action is not suitable for local culture, the shipping unit realized that it needed to take a look to avoid similar incidents.

This is the first time the unit has encountered such an incident. After noticing mixed opinions from the public, the unit proactively removed the images and related content to avoid creating unnecessary controversy.

In addition, the unit will absolutely prohibit drivers from taking photos or filming in swimming areas or related areas and posting them on social networks.

Previously, the incident of a female tourist wearing a bikini, freely posing and dancing while boating on the Nho Que River in September 2023, also caused many mixed opinions.

The image in the clip shows the girl dancing comfortably in a "skimpy" outfit, while a group of young men and tourists on nearby boats cheered and clapped with delight when they saw her.

When the video was shared in travel groups, many people said that dressing like that was considered offensive because this area is not a beach tourism area.

It is known that since 2018, Ha Giang (now Tuyen Quang) has issued a code of civilized conduct.

This document mentions the requirement for tourists to "Wear appropriate and polite clothing when traveling, especially at religious sites, places of worship, martyrs' cemeteries, and traditional festivals".

In July, after the merger, Tuyen Quang province inherited and continued to implement this set of rules.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tuyen Quang will require travel companies bringing tourists to Tuyen Quang to guide tourists to strictly follow the local code of conduct, raise awareness of the community and tourists about civilized behavior, respect for national cultural identity to contribute to creating the image of a friendly, civilized, and sustainably developed destination.

In recent years, Du Gia waterfall has become one of the must-see destinations for foreign visitors on their journey to conquer the Ha Giang Loop.

About 70km from the city center, visitors can choose 2 means of transport: car or motorbike, going in the direction of Bac Me - Cao Bang along provincial road 33 or following national highway 4C to Mau Due and turn onto DT181 to reach Du Gia.
