Open for 7 days, received 10 fraudulent calls.
Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online , Ms. LTMH (owner of a vegetarian restaurant in Hoa Xuan ward, Cam Le district, Da Nang) said that her restaurant, which had only been open for a few days, had been receiving numerous scam calls.
The number of calls was even greater than the number of days the shop was open.
Ms. H. said that last December, she opened a vegetarian restaurant and ran advertisements on several social media platforms. Just a few days later, she started receiving calls from people impersonating tax officials.
"This person claimed to be from the Cam Le - Hoa Vang District Tax Office, and called me to invite me to a training course on tax procedures to 'declare taxes,' 'receive tax refunds,' and enjoy the 'tax exemption for the first three years'," Ms. H. recounted.
Busy with the new shop's opening, Ms. H. promised to come for registration and training at another time.
However, this person suggested that if she didn't have time, she could receive the training materials by mail .
"I didn't expect someone to deliver the books the very next day. The shop staff didn't know, and ended up paying 500,000 dong for the books and shipping," Mrs. H. said angrily.
The very next day, Ms. H. received another call from someone else, also claiming to be a tax official, inviting her to attend a "tax declaration training" session.
At this point, she realized she had been scammed and stopped answering the call.
Furthermore, in the following days, Ms. H. continued to receive numerous calls impersonating the Da Nang City Food Safety Management Board, requesting her to participate in "professional training."
This scam group also uses the tactic of "learning through books and online tutorials," followed by post-examination to issue certificates.
"My shop has only been open for a little over a week, and I've already received more than 10 scam calls like this. I suspect my personal information has been leaked while running online ads on social media," Mrs. H. worried.

Despite warnings, many people were still scammed.
Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online , the head of the Taxpayer Support and Propaganda Department of the Da Nang City Tax Department confirmed that this is a fraudulent act that has been warned about many times.
Accordingly, individuals impersonating tax officials call businesses and household businesses, announcing a training session on new tax policies and promising tax exemptions or reductions.
Taking advantage of the busy schedules of business people, they lure victims into buying training materials by mail with the promise of a "50% refund upon receipt at the tax office".
"The tax authorities have repeatedly urged businesses and household businesses to be vigilant and not follow instructions from unknown phone calls."
However, many people are still being deceived, especially small businesses," said the head of the Taxpayer Support and Propaganda Department.
He emphasized that if the tax authorities organize training sessions or disseminate new policies, invitations will be sent directly to each taxpayer.
All relevant information is disseminated at the tax office and no fees are charged.
