During the Lunar New Year of the Horse (Bính Ngọ), all 103 communes and wards of Can Tho City organized art and cultural programs to transition from the old year to the new. A highlight was the live broadcast of the art program celebrating the Party and the Spring Festival, themed "Can Tho - A Radiant New Spring," directed by the Can Tho City Organizing Committee for Holidays and Commemorations, and broadcast live on Can Tho Newspaper, Radio, and Television.

The program will take place at 8 PM on New Year's Eve at three locations: Song Hau Park (Cai Khe Ward), Xa No Park (Vi Tan Ward), and 5A Urban Area (Phu Loi Ward). "Can Tho - A Radiant New Spring" is an elaborately staged, artistic program, expected to feature artists such as Meritorious Artist Thu Van, Nguyen Phi Hung, Bach Cong Khanh, Ho Phi Nal, Le Duy… and many other artists and dance troupes.
Following the art performance, at 9:45 PM, there will be a fireworks display for the public at Xa No Park (Area 2, Vi Tan Ward) and Urban Area 5A (Area 27, Phu Loi Ward).
At the Song Hau Park (Cai Khe Ward), following the art program "Can Tho - A Radiant New Year," a countdown program to welcome the New Year's Eve moment featured many attractive cultural performances. At exactly midnight, Can Tho City launched a high-altitude fireworks display, launched from a barge 400 meters northeast of Song Hau Park on the Hau River.
On New Year's Eve, Can Tho City also has two other fireworks display locations: on Nguyen Hue Street (lakefront area), Zone 6, Nga Bay Ward, starting at 9:45 PM, and at the multi-purpose gymnasium area - Cultural, Sports and Broadcasting Center, Vinh Chau Ward, starting at 11:45 PM.
Can Tho Flower Street opens on the 27th day of the Lunar New Year.
The Can Tho City Art Flower Street for the Spring Festival of the Year of the Horse 2026, themed "Family Reunion during Tet," will be located along Vo Van Tan - Nguyen Thai Hoc street in Ninh Kieu ward. It is expected to be open to visitors from February 14th to February 21st, 2026 (from the 27th day of the Lunar New Year to the 5th day of the Lunar New Year).
According to the design, the flower street is 310m long, consisting of 3 sections with the themes: "The Country Enters Spring," "Can Tho Past and Present," and "Can Tho Rising." The main gate of the flower street features a prominent model of three galloping horses. Highlights of this year's flower street include a homeland apricot blossom garden, miniature landscapes of rivers and waterways, Can Tho city, and segments introducing the distinctive cultural features of the three ethnic groups Kinh, Khmer, and Hoa in the city. Notably, the flower street also showcases technology and artificial intelligence (AI) models with effects and interactions with visitors. The flower street concludes with a prominent secondary gate featuring a model of Phu Dong Thien Vuong on horseback.
In particular, along the flower street, in addition to stalls promoting Can Tho tourism , the Center for Culture and Arts also organizes nightly cultural performances for visitors.

The Calligraphy Street in front of the Can Tho City Museum will be open to visitors until the 5th day of the Lunar New Year. Here, visitors can watch calligraphers demonstrate writing, painting, and artistic calligraphy, receive auspicious calligraphy as a New Year gift, and experience beautiful calligraphic publications. Next to Calligraphy Street, Mr. Tran Van Thien, a long-time collector and seller of used books in Can Tho City, will also maintain a used book stall to serve visitors and offer them the experience of reading during the New Year.

The Can Tho City Spring Newspaper Fair will also operate throughout the Tet holiday to serve the people. This year's Spring Newspaper Fair will offer more than 150 types of publications for the Year of the Horse. The Spring Newspaper Fair will serve readers from February 10th to March 10th, 2026, simultaneously at three locations: Can Tho City Library (29 Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street, Ninh Kieu Ward), Vi Thanh branch (42 30 Thang 4 Street, Vi Thanh Ward), and Soc Trang branch (2A Tran Quang Dieu Street, Phu Loi Ward). In addition, the system of commune and ward libraries throughout the city will also organize spring newspaper exhibitions combined with cultural, artistic, and sports activities, contributing to serving the cultural and spiritual life of the people in the localities.
In various communes and wards throughout the city, visitors can explore the Spring Flower Market from the 29th day of the Lunar New Year. The largest is the Spring Flower Market organized by the Department of Industry and Trade of Can Tho City, located on Mai Chi Tho Street, Hung Phu Ward, with over 400 stalls. At the Ho Nuoc Ngot Cultural Area in Soc Trang Ward, the Spring Flower Market will remain open until New Year's Eve to serve the shopping and entertainment needs of the local people. In Vi Tan and Vi Thanh wards, along the Xa No canal embankment, there are also many flower and ornamental plant stalls serving the public.
In particular, on the evening of the 23rd day of the 12th lunar month, the People's Committee of Thot Not Ward inaugurated the Binh Ngo Spring Flower Garden at the Ward's Cultural, Sports and Broadcasting Center, open throughout the Tet holiday. The flower garden is uniquely designed with a beautiful layout, many types of flowers, and features prominent horse-themed sculptures. In addition, the garden grounds also host photo exhibitions, flower and souvenir stalls, and nightly cultural and artistic performances.
Public entertainment venues and supermarkets throughout the city are also organizing Tet (Lunar New Year) displays and decorations to serve tourists, which will also be impressive places to visit and have fun.
