According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 7:00 a.m. on August 24, the center of storm No. 5 was located at approximately 17.5 degrees North latitude; 111.3 degrees East longitude, approximately 620km East Southeast of Nghe An and approximately 600km East of Ha Tinh .
Strongest wind: Level 12 (118-133km/h), gusting to level 15. Forecast in the next 24 hours, the storm will move mainly to the West, enter the mainland and gradually weaken.

At 4:00 a.m. on August 25, the storm's center is forecast to be over the sea of Thanh Hoa - Ha Tinh provinces, with winds reduced to level 10-11, gusting to level 13.
To promptly respond to the complicated developments of storm No. 5, the Naval Region 3 Command has directed agencies and units to continuously monitor and grasp the developments of storm No. 5; strictly maintain forces and means on duty, ready to handle situations; review and promptly adjust disaster prevention, rescue and relief plans; prepare plans to relocate and evacuate forces and means away from areas at risk of landslides and flooding; ensure adequate supplies for radar stations stationed in high mountains and remote islands.

Agencies and units deploy measures to ensure safety for ships and boats; reinforce and tie down houses, warehouses, stations, factories, and power grids; trim tree branches, clear sewers, move materials and equipment to higher ground to avoid flooding and minimize damage; proactively coordinate and cooperate with local Party committees and authorities to prepare forces and means to carry out tasks when situations arise.
