On the morning of June 30, the streets of Ea Sup center were more brilliant than usual. According to the plan, the ceremony started at 8am, but from early morning, many cadres, party members and local people were present at the new Ea Sup commune hall. From veteran cadres, village elders, to cadres and people, everyone was excited and eager. Cadres from the district's departments and offices now working with the new agency shook hands and congratulated each other. People also happily exchanged greetings.
Although preparations for the ceremony were carried out carefully and meticulously, Mr. Nguyen Ba Ban, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ea Sup Commune, still arrived very early to check the hall and welcome officials and people to attend the ceremony.

Unable to hide his excitement and emotion on this historic day, Mr. Ban shared that being entrusted with the important responsibility of Chairman of the People's Committee of Ea Sup commune - a newly established administrative unit based on the merger of Ea Sup town, Ea Le commune and Cu M'lan commune - is a great honor for him personally, but at the same time, it is also a heavy responsibility before the Party Committee, government and people of the whole commune.
In the context of the country's extensive implementation of the revolution in organizing the local government apparatus according to the 2-level model (province and commune), he clearly realized that this was not only a change in administrative boundaries, but also a fundamental shift in the way of organizing, operating and serving the people. The abolition of the intermediate level (district level) requires the commune-level apparatus to have sufficient capacity, courage and innovative thinking to adapt and effectively carry out tasks in new conditions.
Ea Sup Commune with a natural area of over 418 km², a population of nearly 31,000 people, is a large-scale commune with a large area, complex terrain, and many ethnic groups living together. This diversity is a strength, but also a challenge for the management, operation, and organization of public services. In the first phase, the locality will focus on stabilizing the organizational structure, assigning staff, and arranging facilities. At the same time, continue to ensure smooth operation, without interrupting the tasks of serving the people.

As the head of the commune government, he clearly defined the motto of action as “Solidarity – Discipline – Creativity – Action – Efficiency”. He pledged to work with the leadership of the Ea Sup Commune People’s Committee to promote a sense of responsibility, be close to reality, listen to the people, and take people’s satisfaction as a measure of public service efficiency.
“I hope to receive cooperation, companionship and support from the collective of cadres, civil servants, mass organizations, businesses and all the people in the commune. Only unity and joint efforts can help us overcome the initial difficulties and gradually build Ea Sup commune into a model administrative unit, developing sustainably and comprehensively, contributing positively to the overall development of the province and the whole country,” Mr. Ban confided.
Mr. Phan Van Ba came to live and work in the border area since 1981. He said that more than 40 years ago, this area was still poor and backward, and cadres, party members, and people had to go through many hardships. Up to now, his hometown has changed a lot, the economic and social infrastructure has been invested in, and the material and spiritual life of the people has improved a lot.
For him, the name Ea Sup is associated with unforgettable memories. “I have great faith in the Party and State’s major policy of merging administrative units and implementing a two-level local government model. This model will be closer to the people, closer to the people, so that the country and the locality can firmly enter a new era,” Mr. Ba shared.

According to Resolution No. 1660/NQ-UBTVQH15 of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the arrangement of administrative units in Dak Lak province, for Ea Sup district (old), the entire natural area and population of Ea Sup town, Cu M'lan commune and Ea Le commune will be arranged into a new commune called Ea Sup commune; the entire natural area and population of Ia Jloi, Cu Kbang and Ea Rok communes will be arranged into a new commune called Ea Rok commune; the entire natural area and population of Ya To Mot commune and Ea Bung commune will be arranged into a new commune called Ea Bung commune; the communes that will not be arranged are Ia Rve and Ia Lop.
Up to now, the new communes have been carefully prepared, synchronously and responsibly from the Party Committee, government to cadres and civil servants, ready to come into operation from July 1, 2025.
