Ea Sup border area before the historic day

In a solemn and enthusiastic atmosphere, the Party Committee, government, officials, Party members, and people of the newly merged communes of the former Ea Súp border district attended the ceremony to announce the Resolutions and Decisions of the Central and local authorities on the merger of provincial and commune-level administrative units, the establishment of Party organizations, and the appointment of Party committees, People's Councils, People's Committees, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at the provincial, commune, and ward levels.

On the morning of June 30th, the central streets of Ea Súp were more vibrant than usual. The ceremony was scheduled to begin at 8:00 AM, but from early morning, a large number of officials, Party members, and local people had already gathered at the new Ea Súp commune hall. From veteran officials and village elders to current officials and citizens, everyone was excited and eager. Officials from various departments of the district, now working at the new agency, greeted each other warmly. The people also happily exchanged greetings and well wishes.

Despite the thorough and meticulous preparations for the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Ba Ban, Chairman of the Ea Sup Commune People's Committee, still arrived very early to inspect the hall and welcome officials and residents attending the ceremony.

Unable to hide his excitement and emotion on this historic day, Mr. Ban shared that being entrusted with the responsibility of Chairman of the People's Committee of Ea Sup Commune – a newly established administrative unit formed by the merger of Ea Sup town, Ea Le commune, and Cu M'lan commune – is a great honor for him personally, but also a heavy responsibility before the Party Committee, the government, and the people of the entire commune.

In the context of the country's ongoing revolution in reorganizing local government structures according to a two-tier model (province and commune), he clearly understood that this was not just a change in administrative boundaries, but also a fundamental shift in the methods of organization, operation, and service to the people. The elimination of the intermediate level (district level) required commune-level authorities to possess sufficient capacity, courage, and innovative thinking to adapt and effectively carry out their tasks under the new conditions.

Ea Súp commune, with a natural area of over 418 km² and a population of nearly 31,000 people, is a large commune with a vast territory, complex terrain, and a diverse ethnic population. This diversity is both a strength and a challenge for management, administration, and the organization of public services. In the initial phase, the locality will focus intensely on stabilizing the organizational structure, assigning personnel, and arranging infrastructure. Simultaneously, it will continue to ensure smooth operation and prevent interruptions in services provided to the people.

As the head of the commune government, he clearly defined his motto as "Unity - Discipline - Creativity - Action - Effectiveness". He pledged to work with the leadership team of the Ea Súp Commune People's Committee to uphold a sense of responsibility, be closely involved in practical matters, listen to the people, and use people's satisfaction as a measure of the effectiveness of public service.

“I hope to receive cooperation, support, and encouragement from the collective of officials, civil servants, mass organizations, businesses, and all the people in the commune. Only with unity and joint efforts can we overcome the initial difficulties and gradually build Ea Súp commune into a model administrative unit, developing sustainably and comprehensively, making a positive contribution to the overall development of the province and the country,” Mr. Bân confided.

Mr. Phan Van Ba has lived and worked in this border region since 1981. He said that more than 40 years ago, this area was still poor and backward, and the cadres, Party members, and people went through countless hardships. Today, his homeland has changed significantly, with improved socio -economic infrastructure and a much higher standard of living, both materially and spiritually.

For him, the name Ea Súp is associated with unforgettable memories. “I have great faith in the Party and State’s major policy of merging administrative units and implementing a two-tiered local government model. This model will be closer to the people, more deeply connected to them, so that the country and the locality can confidently enter a new era,” Mr. Ba shared.
