Rainy area moves to Central region

The rain has stopped in the North, the Central region is on guard for heavy rain and tornadoes today, July 26.

On the morning of July 26, widespread heavy rain in the North has significantly decreased, only appearing sporadically in Dien Bien and Lai Chau. Meanwhile, the Central and Central Highlands regions continue to experience extreme weather patterns, with the risk of localized heavy rain, tornadoes and strong gusts of wind during the day.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from last night to 3am this morning, July 26, the North had showers and thunderstorms, some places had very heavy rain such as Muong Pon (Dien Bien) 104mm, Tan Tien ( Lao Cai ) 101mm. However, from 7am this morning, the rain has decreased significantly. Many areas have switched to intermittent sunny weather, with only localized rain for a short time.

In the Central region, provinces from Ha Tinh to Da Nang will have moderate to very heavy rain today and tomorrow night, with common amounts of 50-100mm, some places may exceed 180mm in 24 hours. The meteorological agency warns of the risk of concentrated rain in a short period of time, which can cause flooding and flash floods, especially in steep terrain areas such as the mountainous areas of Quang Tri and Hue (notably Dakrong and Khe Sanh).

The Central Highlands and the South will also see showers and thunderstorms, mainly in the afternoon and evening. The Southeast will see early rain, while the West is forecast to see more rain later in the day. During thunderstorms, people should be on guard against tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from July 28, heavy rain in the Central Central region will gradually decrease, and unstable weather conditions are expected to persist in some mountainous areas in the North and Central Highlands.
