We were present at the 22kV power line when workers from Hung Ha Power Company were coordinating with the rapid response teams from Pho Hien and Phu Tien Power Companies to rectify existing defects on the power grid from pole 141 to the end of line 474 E11.4. The main task of this 38-person rapid response team was to replace 69 polymer chains; handle contacts, reinforce the jumpers on branch lines and 24 ground contact points… It was only 7 am but the sun was already scorching, and even their long-sleeved orange uniforms couldn't alleviate the burning heat of the summer weather. The electricians, undeterred by the heat, worked tirelessly on the power lines and substations. Sweat soaked their orange uniforms, yet they silently dedicated themselves and overcame difficulties to complete the work as quickly as possible. During a break, Mr. Le Van Hoan, from Hung Ha Power Company, quickly wiped the sweat from his sun-tanned face and shared: "Every day, I and my colleagues in the team start work early in the morning, inspecting and maintaining power lines, measuring temperatures at contact points and substations, in order to promptly detect and handle the risk of overload at the substations. Each of us always strives to overcome the hot weather to maintain the power supply for the people."

Not only Hung Ha Power Company but also other units under Hung Yen Power Company are "straining" to deploy personnel on duty and handle potential incidents to ensure safe and stable power supply for production and daily life. Mr. Vu Huy Ha, Head of Thai Binh Power Company, said: During hot weather, the workload of electricians can double or triple compared to normal days. Power workers have to face scorching heat, race against time, and work even on holidays... all towards the common goal of ensuring a stable power grid for the people.

Thanks to recent improvements and capacity enhancements, the power grid managed by Hung Yen Power Company has avoided overloading, improved reliability, and ensured safe and continuous power supply to customers. Mr. Phung Dai Cat, Deputy Director of Hung Yen Power Company, stated: "In recent days, electricity demand in the province has continuously increased due to the prolonged heatwave. In particular, at 1:30 PM on May 25th, the province's peak load reached 1,996 MW, the highest level since the beginning of this year's hot season. Prior to that, at 9:30 PM on May 15th, the peak load reached 1,900 MW, significantly higher than the average of approximately 1,820 MW during the hot season. Hung Yen Power Company anticipates that electricity demand in the province is currently very high and is expected to continue increasing in the coming period." During periods of sudden load surges, the power sector's workforce must maintain a 24/7 on-call system, ready to handle incidents and ensure a safe and stable power supply for customers.

Behind the successful efforts to ensure a stable power supply for production, business, and daily life lies the silent dedication of the power industry's workers, who tirelessly monitor and inspect the power grid day and night amidst harsh weather conditions and prolonged periods of intense heat. In recent times, the company has implemented a power distribution plan with comprehensive and effective solutions for areas with high electricity demand. To date, all medium and low voltage lines and substations at risk of overload during the hot season have been inspected and load-balanced to ensure safe power supply. Specifically, units have rotated over 500 distribution transformers and carried out 160 load-balancing and phase-switching operations.

The hot weather has led to a surge in electricity demand from customers. Using many high-power electrical appliances simultaneously can easily cause short circuits, fires, localized overloads, and power outages. Therefore, the electricity sector continues to strengthen its efforts to promote energy conservation, encouraging customers to switch to lower-efficiency appliances, use air conditioners rationally, and limit the simultaneous use of multiple high-power appliances during peak hours. High priority will be given to effectively implementing solutions to enhance electricity saving, especially during June.
