Prigozhin was buried in a private ceremony at a cemetery on the outskirts of St. Petersburg, six days after the plane crash.
Yevgeny Prigozhin, head of Russia's private military corporation Wagner, is buried in Porokhovskoye Cemetery, on the outskirts of St. Petersburg, his hometown.
"The farewell ceremony for Yevgeny Prigozhin will be held privately. Those who wish to say goodbye can come to Porokhovskoye Cemetery," the tycoon's media outlet posted on Telegram.
Independent news agency Agentstvo quoted a cemetery employee as saying that only 20-30 relatives and friends attended the 40-minute ceremony.
An AFP reporter described the cemetery as being sealed off to restrict access. Media images showed Prigozhin's grave covered in flowers in the wooded cemetery. Police and National Guard forces were also present in the area.

The Embraer Legacy 600 crashed in Tver province on August 23 while flying from Moscow to St. Petersburg. Three crew members and seven passengers on board were killed, including Prigozhin and several of his top associates. Russian authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident.
The Kremlin said on August 28 that President Vladimir Putin "sent his condolences to the family of Yevgeny Prigozhin." Putin had previously described Prigozhin as a brilliant businessman who had made many serious mistakes but had also strived to achieve success for himself and the common good.
Speculation arose that the Kremlin might be involved in the accident, as it occurred just two months after Wagner staged a rebellion against the Russian military leadership. The Kremlin denied these claims, calling them "complete lies."
