• Building a prosperous, civilized, and modern Dat Moi commune.
  • Dat Moi Commune builds a strong foundation of national unity.
  • Dat Moi Commune begins construction of rural traffic bridge.

To ensure efficient production for local people, from the beginning of the year, Dat Moi commune organized numerous conferences, workshops, and technical training courses, attracting hundreds of participants. These field training sessions allowed farmers to directly observe and learn new techniques in shrimp and crab farming, thereby changing their mindset and moving towards clean, bio-safe production.

Locals maintain and develop two highly effective shrimp and crab farming models: a bio - secure, closed-loop shrimp and crab farming system in Xeo Lon hamlet and crab farming under mangrove forests in Con Cat hamlet. Both models share common features such as minimizing water changes, applying scientific and technical advancements to production (using probiotics, fertilizers, zeo), and selecting reputable, high-quality breeds.

Thanks to the application of a bio-secure, closed-loop shrimp and crab farming model, farmers have seen their income increase by 60-70% compared to before.

Mr. Lam Thanh Dong, from Xeo Lon hamlet, is a pioneer in implementing and successfully developing a bio-secure, closed-loop shrimp and crab farming model. Seeing the effectiveness, many households have learned from him and followed suit.

Starting with an initial farming area of 4 hectares, the model has now been replicated by 8 households in the hamlet, covering a total area of 24 hectares. The advantages of the process include reduced water changes , strict pond control, healthy shrimp and crab growth, average yields of 520 kg of shrimp and 50 kg of crab per hectare per year, and a 60-70% increase in income compared to before.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hau, from Xeo Lon hamlet, shared: “Initially, it was difficult, but gradually we gained experience through exchange and learning. In my opinion, it's important to treat the water with chemicals beforehand to kill all bacteria and unwanted fish; when drawing in water, it must be clean, and the salinity must be measured. If the water doesn't meet the standards, it must be treated again.”

Mr. Nguyen Van Hau sets up a trap to harvest shrimp from his bio-secure, closed-loop shrimp-crab farming model.
