Resistance base commune in Soc Trang meets new rural standards

Mr. Phan Thanh Tung, Secretary of the Party Committee of My Phuoc Commune, said: My Phuoc Commune consists of 13 hamlets, belongs to a deep rural commune of My Tu District and is a revolutionary base of the Soc Trang Provincial Party Committee during the resistance war.

After 13 years of implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Development, My Phuoc commune has achieved many outstanding achievements. Specifically, the commune has adjusted its planning in accordance with the socio -economic development orientation of the commune, period 2021 - 2025, meeting the requirements of restructuring the agricultural sector in conjunction with responding to climate change, urbanization and protecting the rural environment; functional service areas supporting rural economic development, in accordance with the local socio -economic situation.

The roads are asphalted and concreted to ensure convenient car travel all year round. The result of mobilizing resources to build new rural communes (2010-2024 period) is over 813 billion VND.

After 13 years of implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Construction, up to now, the rate of solid and semi-solid houses is 85.21%; there are no temporary or dilapidated houses.

People's income is increasingly improved, the average income per capita by 2024 of the commune is 62.16 million VND/person/year; the rate of trained workers is 71.05%; the rate of households using clean water according to standards is 71.1%; the rate of households using electricity regularly and safely from sources in the commune is 99.98%. The whole commune has no more temporary or dilapidated houses; the number of permanent and semi-permanent houses in the commune is 3,334/3,927 houses, reaching 85.21%.

On this occasion, 2 groups and 4 individuals received certificates of merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for their excellent performance in building My Phuoc commune to meet the standards of a new rural commune. 7 groups and 14 individuals received certificates of merit from the Chairman of the District People's Committee for their contributions in building My Phuoc commune to meet the standards of a new rural commune.
