Thu Lam Commune: 2,000 people attended the 1st Sports Festival

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of Thu Lam Commune People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Luan emphasized that during his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh once advised: "A strong people makes a prosperous country. I hope that all our people will try to exercise. I myself exercise every day." Imbued with his teachings, over the years, the movement "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho" has become a consistent goal in the activities of Thu Lam Commune.

Identifying the development of physical training and sports as a task closely linked to socio -economic development, national defense and security, the Party Committee and the Thu Lam government always pay attention to investing and creating conditions for the mass sports movement to spread strongly. Up to now, the rate of households regularly participating in sports training has reached nearly 47%.

From this movement, many athletes have grown up, achieved high achievements from city, national to international levels, contributing to promoting the image of the dynamic hometown of Thu Lam, rich in sports traditions. Typical examples include players: Nguyen Quang Hai, Do Duy Manh, Nguyen Van Tung or athlete Nguyen Thi Kieu Oanh...

Along with promoting the sports movement, Thu Lam commune pays special attention to taking care of children and youth. During the summer of 2025, Thu Lam commune Youth Union has implemented many diverse and practical activities.

The first Sports Congress and the 2025 Summer Activity Program of Thu Lam Commune attracted more than 2,000 cadres, members, youth union members, and a large number of local people to participate. This is an activity of profound political and social significance, affirming the attention of the Party Committee and the Government to the sports movement, and demonstrating the responsibility to care for and nurture the young generation in the cause of building and developing the homeland.

According to Vice Chairman of Thu Lam Commune People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Luan, the first Sports Congress and the summary of summer activities in 2025 took place at a time of special significance when the Party Committee, government and people of Thu Lam Commune strived to welcome the success of the first Commune Party Congress, towards the 18th Hanoi City Party Congress and the 14th National Party Congress.

Within the framework of the program, many activities were elaborately staged, imbued with the traditional identity of the homeland of scholars. Rich content such as parades, rhythmic gymnastics, group dancing, folk games, creative playgrounds and digital transformation experiences... created an exciting and united atmosphere, demonstrating the strong vitality of the community. Not only an opportunity for fun and physical training, the program is also a comprehensive educational environment, helping the young generation of Thu Lam practice skills, discipline and nurture love for their homeland and country.
