Identifying the champions at the 2025 Economic and Urban Newspaper pickleball tournament

The first pickleball tournament of Kinh te va Do thi Newspaper - 2025 took place in excitement for two days, March 15-16, at the Pickleball Court Complex of the Center for Culture - Information - Sports and Tourism of Cau Giay District (Hanoi).

This is a tournament to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Hanoi Party Committee (March 17, 1930 - March 17, 2025) and respond to the campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho".

The 2025 Economic and Urban Newspaper pickleball tournament has more than 400 athletes participating in two groups: amateur and open.

The contents of the amateur group include: Amateur men's doubles under 40 years old (champion: Thai Hoa Binh - Le Quang Thang), Amateur men's doubles over 40 years old (Ho Hoang Viet - Nguyen Ba Quynh), Amateur women's doubles under 35 years old (Nguyen Thi Ngoc Ha - Nguyen Thi Thanh), Amateur women's doubles over 35 years old (Pham Ngoc Lan - Do Thi Nam), Amateur men's and women's doubles under 35 years old (Nguyen Phuong Anh - Nguyen Duc Cuong) and Amateur men's and women's doubles over 35 years old (Ho Hoang Viet - Bui Thi Lan Huong).

While the extended group includes Open Men's Doubles (Champions: Ta Hong Dung - Tran Anh Tu), Open Women's Doubles (Tran Dieu Linh - Vu Huong Lan), Open Men's and Women's Doubles (Tran Anh Tu - Nguyen Thi Xuan Hoa), Open Men's Singles (Nguyen Viet Hoang).

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thanh Loi, Editor-in-Chief of Economic and Urban Newspaper, Head of the Organizing Committee emphasized: “The tournament was a great success, attracting the participation of many athletes from inside and outside Hanoi.

Through the tournament, we hope to create a healthy playground, connect the Pickleball community, and contribute to spreading the sports spirit to the people."

Meanwhile, the women's open doubles champion Vu Thi Huong Lan expressed: "As someone who loves pickleball and has been competing for more than 2 years, I hope that through this tournament I can connect with more members of the Vietnamese pickleball community.

Through competing and watching the matches of the Economic and Urban Newspaper 2025 pickleball tournament, I see that the tournament brings together many high-quality, high-level athletes, especially in the extended events.

Besides, the refereeing work is also very good, professional and objective. This is also an important factor contributing to the quality and success of the tournament."
