Vietnam women's team beat UAE, tops the table

(Dan Tri) - Against the weak opponent UAE, the Vietnamese women's football team won a resounding 6-0 victory. This result helped coach Mai Duc Chung's team advance closer to the final round of the Asian tournament.

In the 14th minute, Thai Thi Thao scored to raise the score to 2-0 for the home team. About two minutes before the end of the first half, the Vietnamese women's football team scored the third goal, thanks to Nguyen Thi Van.

Leading by 3 goals in the first half, coach Mai Duc Chung's team deliberately slowed down in the second half. However, despite that, the home team continued to take turns in the second half.

In the 51st minute, Nguyen Thi Van scored to raise the score to 4-0 for the Vietnamese women's football team. Not stopping there, in the 64th minute and the 5th minute of injury time of the second half, Pham Hai Yen and Ngan Thi Van Su scored, sealing a 6-0 victory for coach Mai Duc Chung's team.

With the victory over UAE, the Vietnamese women's football team has 6 points after two matches, with a goal difference of +13. The second-placed team Guam has 4 points after two matches.

The home team of Group E of the 2026 Asian Women's Football Championship qualifiers only needs to win at least one point against the weak team Guam on July 5 to secure a place in the Asian Cup finals.
