The application includes the 10th grade entrance exam score report issued by the secondary school where the student registered to take the exam.
Candidates can only apply directly to a high school that is short of enrollment quota and cannot change schools after submitting their application. Results will be announced on August 8.
Previously, the Department of Education and Training (GDĐT) of Ho Chi Minh City announced additional enrollment targets at 37 public high schools in Region 1 for the 2025-2026 school year.
According to the Department of Education and Training, the admission subjects are students who have taken the entrance exam for grade 10 in the 2025-2026 school year in Region 1, Ho Chi Minh City and meet the following conditions:
Not being admitted to any public high school and must have a total entrance exam score of 3 subjects: Math, Literature, Foreign Language and priority and incentive points (if any) greater than or equal to the standard score of the first choice of the public high school they want to apply for.
The 10th grade entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City took place on June 6-7 with more than 76,000 candidates taking the exam. The enrollment target for public high schools is more than 70,000 students. This is the exam with the highest admission rate in many years, reaching more than 90%.
This is the third consecutive year that Ho Chi Minh City has organized additional enrollment for grade 10. In 2024, Ho Chi Minh City has 36 high schools enrolling more than 2,200 students. Some schools lack many enrollment targets such as Phong Phu High School (300), Nguyen Van Linh High School (191), An Nhon Tay High School (140), Nguyen Van Tang High School (134), Trung Lap High School (123), Vinh Loc B High School (115), Long Truong High School (102)...
At the end of the application period, high schools that still lacked enrollment quotas recruited 1,400/2,203 candidates, reaching a rate of 63.54%. Correspondingly, there was still a shortage of more than 800 enrollment quotas.

Among them, the top school group almost lost everything in the additional recruitment round.
