Setting a Vietnamese record "The largest painting in Vietnam made from ST rice"

On November 22, at 30/4 Park (Soc Trang city, Soc Trang province), the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Soc Trang province organized the establishment of a Vietnamese record "The largest painting in Vietnam made from ST rice".

"Vietnam's largest painting made from ST rice" with the theme " Soc Trang rice plants past and present" has just been recognized as a Vietnamese record.

According to the leader of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism , "Vietnam's largest painting made from ST rice" with the theme "Soc Trang rice plants past and present", is 4m high, 7m wide and 10mm thick.

The painting was handcrafted by 10 artisans in 30 days, assembled from 14 small paintings covered with paint, waterproof, heat-resistant and durable for up to 50 years.

According to Mr. Tran Minh Ly, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the work aims to honor Soc Trang rice, promote linkages in agricultural economic development towards developing rural agricultural tourism.

Through setting the record, we will promote the image of Soc Trang rice plants and grains, build a tourism brand, and create a premise for Soc Trang tourism to gradually develop, becoming an important and spearhead economy in the coming time.

Soc Trang province has advantages in agricultural development, rice is the main agricultural product of Soc Trang. In particular, the ST fragrant rice variety with outstanding quality and bringing Vietnamese rice in general, and Soc Trang province in particular, to the world, such as ST25 rice won the highest prize in the World's Best Rice Contest in 2019.
